Re: What are YOUR New Years plans???

I can never be asked with New Year. I had my New Year Saturday at MOS and that's good enough for me

Re: What are YOUR New Years plans???

jack shit. i shall be forced to watch "Seacrest Out" since it would be tough to find a babysitter for a newborn. ah well, NYE is so overrated as the clubs charge rediculous covers for mediocre music, bars are packed & tough to get a drink, & the cops are out looking for ya. began realizing in the last few years, just not worth the hassle.

Re: What are YOUR New Years plans???

i hate going out on NYE. i'll probably get lit at a friend's inside my apartment complex to make it a little easier on the po-po pullin over drunkards.

Re: What are YOUR New Years plans???

looks like I'm going to Danny Howells in Amsterdam.:D I had to get a hotel on the outskirts because the ones close to downtown were like 300 euro a night. F that. Now I have to see about getting the tix. I don't trust just showing up on New Years eve, probably going to be sold out. I don't know. The only problem is that the only tix store I found that has them requires you to have them mailed or for you to pic them up at the tix store in Amsterdam. what happened to E-tickets? Either way, should be awesome. Pics and vids mos def.

Re: What are YOUR New Years plans???

NYE is such an overrated evening, IMO. We're just having a few folks over to drink some drinks and have a Wii tournament, anticipating a fun, but laid back, evening.

#951963Post 55 of 83

Re: What are YOUR New Years plans???

I agree with you. we used to just throw all nighters at someones house and it would be the best time. Jibs can tell you about some of those. I just figured I'm in Europe and why the F not party like a rockstar . Especially a 6 hr Danny Howells solo set!!!! bring it on

Re: What are YOUR New Years plans???

Always been a bigger fan of Xmas ... plus the big DJ's do the sensible thing and avoid the uk at New Year (plus the clubs try to charge stupid fees, so the punters stay away). The last decent club event was Cream at millenium with Sasha bringing in the new century. I've got a new girlfriend so I hope she'll be keeping me warm and entertained !!

You kids just don't get it. When I was your age, I had to walk through 3 feet of snow to get to the bar for NYE -- uphill, both ways.

#952098Post 60 of 83

Re: What are YOUR New Years plans???

^^^ NYE isn't that big a deal here anymore. NYD though is huge !! Two big music festivals alone along with umpteen other events. I'm not into festivals so I am going to this.

DIDI: Is Honkytons open again? Read a good rumor that Supermayer is playing there next April!

#952147Post 62 of 83

Re: What are YOUR New Years plans???

Apparently they will be here in April and bought out by Future. The only rumour I've heard about Honkys is that it will be part of the development of the St Kilda Triangle . They actually used the building for quiy te a while after they were closing. They ran a night called third class . Haven't heard anything for a while.

Re: What are YOUR New Years plans???

Looks like I'm being dragged into a limo with tons of my girlfriends hot girlfriends headed for a hotel "all white themed" party in Downtown San Diego, all top shelf drinks, etc included, oh and apparently we're getting the tickets for half the price, life is rough in SoCal8). But seriously, life was so much easier back in Daytona Beach 600 North Rabbit in the Moon dayz.......:shock::shock:

Re: What are YOUR New Years plans???
it must suck being old and not wanting to have fun anymore.
One other thing -- the last time I went out for NYE was like 3 yrs back. A friend of mine organized this deal at a bar where his brother-in-law was a part owner, and we were to have our own VIP area, all you can drink, etc. There were probably 40 of us.

We get there and my buddy ends up in the VIP area getting blown by a thousand virgins while the rest of us were schlepping around in the front of the house, fighting for the attention of the single bartender and racing over to the food on the fluke chance a new thing of lukewarm cheese sticks was put out. The place ran out of glasses, and they literally began serving drinks out of votive candle holders. Oh, and a friend of mine got too drunk before we even left for the bar and took a header about 20 minutes after we arrived, sending him to the hospital. Years ago, I might of viewed something like that as a badge of honor, but now that I'm an old fogey, I just shake my head and wish these amateurs would learn to hold their fucking liquor. Stepping over a pool of blood = not a necessary ingredient for a fun time, IMO. Sigh...

Re: What are YOUR New Years plans???

^ that does suck. i, too, agree that a night out at a club/bar is for the newBies. but i'm a total advocate for all night private house parties. those that you get to let loose with good friends and not worry about expensive bar tabs. that to me is the best way to celebrate new years.

i just hope i never get to the point where even that isn't appealing. :what

#952305Post 68 of 83

Re: What are YOUR New Years plans???

That would be perfect man^^^. Too bad I don't have friends and peeps like my peeps from back home. I meet cool people along the way but none like the old school crew. Parties like that are unheard of anymore unless I actually go home for vacation.

Yeah well If i wouldn't have joined the AIR FORCE I might have ended up like my brother. Not to say that I haven't had alot of fun and awesome experiences since I've been gone, but I miss the good old days sometimes.

for the record, in the interest of protecting my good name, "laid back evening" doesn't mean sipping tea and kicking everyone out at 12:01... ;)
