Jamie Jones for next Bedrock

Jamie's Kiss guest mix this week is absolute class and every mix I've heard from him has been good if not exceptional. His 'Get Lost 2' mix from earlier this year is probably my all time favourite (if you haven't heard it i will personally burn you a copy) and he's been smashing the hell out of most places in London and further abroad. This guy deserves more than anyone to be given a chance at London's EDM mecca, eg. the next Bedrock @ Heaven.

I didn't go to the last one :( but from talking to people who did Neil Quigley was a bit of a a dissappointment and it didn't really take off until Digweed stepped up. The style that Jamie plays would be perfect fof the night and for the club and would lead up to what would inevitably be another stellar set from the big D.

So emails, petitions, or just book every other DJ so they're not available. and if anyone can think of anyone they'd prefer to do the warm-up I'd be interested in hearing who.

GIVE JONES A CHANCE!!!!

Peace out. 8)

I don't know but just listen to one of Quigley's set from the promos section and his style is a great lead up to Diggers. Not too heavy just enough of a trip to set the plate properly.

I think that he sometimes tries to get it going too soon for Bedrock but im not a huge fan anyway. Phil Thompson used to play ridiculously low bpm deep dark atmospheric stuff and build it up so so slowly which is perfect for Bedrock. Judging by this weeks Kiss set I think Jamie would be perfect. (but then again im the one who said it to Greg in the first place! lol). I think Miss Harris would do a great job too.

Haven't heard it yet, just wanna chip in and say Cusick would probably do a good warmup too.

Re: Jamie Jones for next Bedrock

quigleys fruit seemed to do it for a great lot of you for a few months but was short-lived. i've never been to a 'bedrock' but jamie jones also seems like a more likely candidate since his sounds are a bit rougher and unpredicted.

quigleys recent toronto set started off nice, but seemed to maintain the same 'ploddyness' throughout.

that sound, imo, is a dying breed of 'needing to be on time and not fitting all the time' sound 4 hours of fruity prog buildup is OVER

bring on the filth that is the future!

Re: Jamie Jones for next Bedrock

I like Jamie...I've mainly formed an impression of him through his production, both in my own collection and as featured in other peoples' mixes. He's put together some real classics... I heard him DJ live once in Chicago and I also have "Get Lost 2"...it really is an excellent mix. However, the one thing with Jamie is...I'm not sure I've ever really heard him bring it, you know? He does great sets for the person who is really in the know as far as tech house goes, great for after hours...but I've yet to really hear him tear into it...

That's why i think he'd be an ideal warm up for Digweed. He would build the tension without smashing the fuck out of it and then let the big D come and do his thang

Tune selection...absolutely yes, although live mixing wise he's definately not flawless

Neil Quigley is the man, you people should be ashamed of yourselves.

Re: Jamie Jones for next Bedrock

lmao i just read my post from the other night. i was slightly over the limit :drink: i actually did like quigley's toronto mix from recently, it just has to be played at the right time for me. i tend to get bored with the lighter prog sounds these days.

i heard some promo of his earlier this year that was really good.

but back on track here, the jamie jones mix is great. went ahead for a second listen this afternoon and man is that guy on point. quality from start to finish.

Re: Jamie Jones for next Bedrock

only time I saw Jones live was opening up for Berkson & What (followed by Booka Shade) in Chicago. He was just goofing around with the other resident, nothing interesting at all. Have to say his tracks have some funk though.

That is actually one of the things I love about him, I could listen to the deeper techier stuff all night. Im sure most peeps would agree with you though..
