As most of everyone knows there is a HD channel (RAVE) for live concerts, shows, specials for rock, pop, country, etc... I wonder why there couldn't be an HD channel for live shows, events especially for DJs.. Would be incredible to see the likes of JD or SASHA at live events in HD... The light shows alone, with the music ringing through on the surround sound!! on my 60 inch plasma... YIKES!! :shock::shock::shock: Just dreaming i guess.. What do you guys think?? Or maybe across the pond there already is such a channel??

Sounds like an awesome idea, but if you're on the west side of the pond, unfortunately, there wouldn't be much of a market to justify the cost of the hd programming.

But if it happens sometime in my lifetime, you could bet I'll be having parties in hd at home!

that would kick ass but unfortunately not many in the states would watch it, therefore none of the carriers would carry the channel b/c it wouldnt be good finance decision.

I will give three reasons

1. Getting the DJ/Promoter to sign off on a recording of the mix
2. The lighting in clubs is usually dark which makes it very difficult for video especially HD.
3. Static shot cut ins of the DJ smoking a cigerette or drinking between mixes can get a bit boring. There is just not a lot of action, unless the crowd is wacked out on drugs and from my days shooting video at C2K in Vegas that stuff will never see the light of day, but I know where it is. wink, wink.

You can go the Ultra Fest route and get 16 video cameras and shoot the hell out of the a DJ on a big stage with lighting yet when the promoter does not pay the bill, the boxes of videotape are shelved never to be seen, which was the case when an associate and myself shot the 2006 Ultrafest. The only person who paid anything was Bunny from RITM just so he could get his footage from the night. At least with touring bands, for the most part, they will cut a check ahead of time which will clear, dealing with event promoter is dicey in video/tv production, at least in my experience in the field, but it would be nice.

not a big tiesto fan (at all) but i recently watched a mix he put together.. don't remember where at (he was on a round stage) and it was pretty kick ass... watched the whole thing.. to see someone like digweed or zabiela to something like that together.. and with all other djs out there (and there are alot nowadays) i thinking an HD channel would catch on.... even to those peeps that dont really enjoy dance music.. (late night anyhow) IMO
