Feature-packed, super-versatile CDJ-400 digital deck

Introducing our new CDJ-400 deck, a flexible, affordable feature-packed performance player for the aspiring club DJ to use at home. Designed by DJs for DJs and drawing inspiration from our industry standard CDJ-1000 series, this latest member of the CDJ family is fully geared up to serve the next generation of digital artists.

The CDJ-400 allows you to play you MP3 collection off CD-R/RW discs as well as music from mass storage USB devices, such as USB keys, external hard drives and portable media devices.

The deck also features the world’s first Scratch Jog Effects , with three creative scratch effects and an amazing new Loop Divide function.

Virtually all of the button and slider functions can send MIDI data via USB output, making it possible for the decks to control DJ software and other applications, such as our DJS or Serato Scratch LIVE on a PC or MAC.

-good idea in theory, but i hate flipping through folders and tracks with the readout on the cdjs. if you have a 1gig usb jump drive...that would suck to go through all that shit without being able to see the whole folder at once (like with final scratch.)

-and you don't need midi for serato.

nice looking decks, just don't see the point with the new model really. 200/800/1000 still the logical choices.

just a toy. It'll depend on how the searching can be done for tracks through USB.

i want that dj booth. i like what i have now, but ^that's about the only thing i've seen i'd give my table up for. only thing that sucks about it is it's round, and everything in my place has nice clean square lines. actually, nevermind, i talked myself out of it.

#936556Post 13 of 29

Re: NEW Pioneer CDJ-400...

yeah, I want that.

Re: NEW Pioneer CDJ-400...

bump Manufacturer's suggested price is $US750

#936573Post 15 of 29

Re: NEW Pioneer CDJ-400...

550 € plus the taxes says Pioneer's homepage for Europe.

That'd make it about 670 € in Finland.

Re: NEW Pioneer CDJ-400...

I have a pair of these as of a week ago, Love them so far. Anyone know how to change the default display so that it shows the song name and not the file name when it loads a track?

As far as a review goes:

I used to use virtualDJ with my 5 years old pc (yeah i used to mix with a mouse, pretty sad). These two, along with the djm400 came out to about $2000. Since these were my first decks, I needed something entry-level, but I didn't want to go real cheap since I knew I was gonna keep these for a long time.

For a first pair of decks, it's excellent and, maybe I haven't worked with other ones, but I could see myself using these forever. The pitch control goes up by +/- 0.02 and that's plenty good for me. As far as I can tell, at that pitch adjustment the tracks are perfectly lined up for the duration of both songs.

I haven't mastered the effects yet, but there are some goodies there to play with. I've only had them for a couple of months now, but I'm very impressed with them.
