For me its really up for debate, I think the greatest director for electronic music in general has got to be Chris Cunningham, I was stunned when I first saw his work for Aphex Twin's window licker, but felt his most aesthetic work was most definitely for Bjork's track "All Is full of love" ( :!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjAoBKagWQA ). The video later inspired Steven Spielberg creation of "Ai" and spielberg hired chris for the job of FX coordination.

Although the visuals are almost articulated by the music itself, Chris's visual work is not so much a visual echo of the music as the visuals change the songs meaning.

I later found a video by a Vancouver film school student named Ori Ben Shabat , who teamed up with a fellow student at the school's sound department, Collin Janz to produce one of the greatest non-commercial artistic works I have seen to date. Ori's work was so good that he was hired immediately after graduation and was the FX coordinator behind the recent movie "Blades of Glory"

Previous work's by Thomas Job, for Michael Cretu of Enigma have also shown to be both unique and equally pleasing to the eye. In the video "Push the limits", a visual feast of kendo, split screen sex and analog video games; serve to bombard the viewer with stimuli while complimenting the tracks mystical nature. The video was shot on location in South Africa as the venue must have aided in its elaborate production. Enigma has sold over 100 million albums to date and have a new album out.

Re: <!> Electonic Visuals

its not really related to electronica, but there is no one better for unbelievable visuals that are synced up with music than Tool. Specifically the guitar player, Adam Jones. Guy did the special effects in Jurrasic Park and Terminator 2...

exactly how are you missing the visuals in this?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1904iZ9OAuk

those were all done by Adam Jones (the guitar player). Nothing from external visual artists, all the images and synchronization were done by him...

edit: actually, i can't say that...some of the images are from a painter, alex grey.
