i tell you what, cd2 - salamat is about the finest piece of music i have ever let my ears hear. aside from NE1&2 this disc has captivated me from the first listen, and tonight I am hearing it for at least the 50th time. this cd creates emotion inside me that basically no other disc can. even the NE cd's are totally home-listening discs, and really make my armpits sweat with joy, but Salamat cd2 makes me want to cry, laugh, rejoice, grasp, inherit, pray, donate, clench, apply, submit, and bleed.

in the end i give this disc 11 out of possible 10 :!:

I, too, love this disc more than my mothers son.

Re: Salamat - appreciation thread

cd1 was a bit more proggy. cd2 is a work of art.

all of both cd's are completely original material, no "spinning" of others' music was involved.

Re: Salamat - appreciation thread

Didn't really grab me to be honest. I like Moshic's sound and will check out his sets when they show up, but the sampling of those female vocals have worn thin since '01-02.

Somebody said that " is about the finest piece of music ...."

It`s very nice ....music that you hear that brings out emotions and feelings.... deep, ambient, trippy ........

Re: Salamat - appreciation thread

I like CD2 (downbeat CD) ... probably one of the best downbeats CD's I've ever heard. CD1 (progressive) got boring for me after a few listens.

Re: Salamat - appreciation thread

for me, it was the best artist album of 2006. the melodies, the layers of sounds, the grooves just keep flowing in each track. absolutely love it.

Re: Salamat - appreciation thread

Damnit Jibs, your gonna make me buy another cd. Haven't heard this album yet, but very interested to. I've got his Distorted Patterns and Dj Mag cd's but not this one. Don't know why I never picked it up.

Re: Salamat - appreciation thread

i wasn't so much in to cd1. it got a little repetitive with the female vocals. however, cd2 makes me saucy every time i heard it. it's worth purchasing for cd2 alone, imo

I agree... CD2 was the best thing I had heard at the time I purchased this... is still up there with the best to this day. Absolute bliss...

Re: Salamat - appreciation thread

late on this one, but these cds have been in constant rotation since they came out. I find the first disc right up there with K&D Sessions for early weekend daytime listening and cd2, well there's not much I could add to what's already been said here before...simply brilliant! :)

Re: Salamat - appreciation thread

As a Friend of moshic i can tell you that the new album will be out soon, the sound will be different, Little bit trance but still moshic style

Re: Salamat - appreciation thread

very good peice if art i liked it too , his music really never fails to impress me including his mix album he released before this one ... I really would love to see Kintar release an album :)

Re: Salamat - appreciation thread

Let the appreciation continue! Love this stuff.

...and thanks for the 3 new mixes!

Re: Salamat - appreciation thread

threw this on this past weekend for some friends and they were all floored...hell, I was...forget just how damn good it is.

Probably one of the best pieces of original electronica music...Moshic manages to just brilliantly display his personal influences in the music while maintaining the utmost respect for the progressive underground genre.

Re: Salamat - appreciation thread

^ i've introduced him to a few people too and the reaction is usually the same. they love these cd's. it's nice opening up peoples' ranges of listening juice especially with a compilation as special as this one.

i dont even feel like my next statement is out on a limb:

Salamat cd2 is right up there with what i consider the EDM Bible - NE1&2 such timeless discs!

funny thing, i was just listening to cd2 this morning and i remember just being totally amazed, again, for the thousandth time.

very true. but for me, the magic they created mending, folding, stretching, and manipulating other artists music on NE is comparable to no other compilation on the planet. there isn't one spot in all 4 discs that makes me think "hmm this could be done a little better" so in that regard they made gold with those cd's.

on the other hand, i understand what you're saying about all original material. ;)
