I see that Sasha and James Zabiela will be gracing our presence in Toronto on Oct. 9th. DJ Three is there as well. I don't know much about him ... just heard he does weird stuff, very creative and very good. Anyone else know more about him?

Re: DJ Three?

He's very good. :D

#265644Post 3 of 41

he's from tampa. he's with hallucination (rabbit in the moon) he's very creative on the dex. and when he wants to, he can bring the house down. he opened for sasha in Tampa in Dec '03, and did a fantastic job. he's a nice guy to boot. very approachable.

Re: DJ Three?

i also thought he rocked it with sasha in tampa and ive seen him many times and love his stuff. he does go off in a weird direction sometimes though, very talented and plays just about everything you can imagine.

Three, aka, Chris Milo, IS my favourite opening dj. I have seen him many times. Living in Tampa and knowing how crappy our scene is here, he is a definite bright, well "dark", spot. And as my colleagues have mentioned, he is very humble and approachable artist. He opened also when Sasha played here in February, built into his set very very nicely. IMO Dont think you will be let down.

Re: DJ Three?

heard hundreds of his sets.you will not be disappointed.he does play some weird stuff sometimes,he will keep you going.please post what you thought of his set afterwards,it would be nice to hear what you think of his set.

Re: DJ Three?

he'll play tracks you can't id and may never come across again. he goes into different directions and sounds without losing his groove. really talented dj...

Re: DJ Three?

Three is the best DJ I have ever seen. I saw him when he played 1201 a couple years ago in Portland. Along the way he played a Wavy Gravy mashup (keep in mind this was when the song was new), and he finished the set with Rolling Stones - Miss You. After that, he started playing random songs that he liked: Bruce Springsteen - I'm on Fire and some weird, scratchy country tune the pre-1950's?

grounded music show, not sure if it's the hallucination one. it has a beautiful opening track, vocal sounds like badu.

Re: DJ Three?

I heard Chris play a set the WMC and it was fucking incredible. All over the place with his tracks, incredibly groovy, teched out funk, that kept me looking over at my buds wondering what the next track would be. Highly recommended. :Rolling:

Re: DJ Three?

DJ Three opening up for Sasha and Digweed in twilo....oh my goodness....that's the too much to bare.

Re: DJ Three?

Hey remy, it's going to be a good show for sure. Friends in FL all swear by Three and I'm hoping we'll finally get to hear what the buzz is all about. He was at Kool Haus about 2-3 years ago and his sound just didn't translate well - possibly because that arena space doesn't always work with everyone. Here's hoping the Guv venue will be better for him this time around!

#267344Post 27 of 41

if you havn't checked it out yet there's a Spring mix by DJ Three floating around I have it on soulseek. Name=cervy.

DJ Three rocks

DJ Three Biography:

Name: Christopher Monikers(s): Second Hand Satellites, Three AM, Montage Men. From: Floorida, USA.

Three has quietly and steadily earned the respect of his peers the world over through a handful of truly unique productions and a signature DJing sound spanning through all things house, techno and beyond. This sound, a strong knowledge of tradition capped by a fondness for the cutting edge, continually puts him through a variety of tour dates that show not only diversity in audience, but a genre-bending passion for good music. A long time fixture of Florida's legendary Simons and a former resident at Twilo in N.Y.C., guest spots have seen him through San Franciso's notorious Wicked Crew party, London's Fabric, Bedrock, KISS FM , and off-shore to Mexico, Peru, Costa Rica, Pacha in Buenos Aires and South Africa.

Echoing his wide tastes as a DJ, the unique sound of his productions has captured a not-so-common cross section of DJ's ears from deep house to techno, and all things in bewteen.

Re: DJ Three?

Three was soooooooooooooooooooo good at Fabric about a year ago. It was one of the best sets, if not the best set, I heard all of last year. I keep crossing my fingers hoping that Fabric will book him once again!

#279308Post 33 of 41

i missed Three in London?

I'm devastated!

#279311Post 34 of 41

Re: DJ Three?

Yeah, it was the last week of September last year. It was my first visit to Fabric, actually!!! I'm hoping that since he's touring with Sasha in the States at the moment, someone from Fabric will pick up on that vibe and book him once again! (crossing fingers and all other limbs, just in case!) :D

#279313Post 35 of 41
