don't just go for Ultra...by[I] [B][U]far[/U][/B][/I] the best of WMC occurs at the gigs and afterhours parties that week that take place at all the clubs and bars in South Beach (& some of downtown).

I plan on hitting up as many parties as my body will let me!!:D So it's best to stay in South Beach somewhere between 1st and what like 30th street? Anyone know of a cute inexpensive place to stay in South Beach? I've never gone before, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.!

Check out the Riande Continental. Not the best hotel in the world but not the worst by any means. It's right in the middle of everything though and most likely where I'll be staying this time....

Cheap and SoBe should never be used in the same sentence imo. Add in WMC and forget about it!!!!!

If this is your first time going and you want to go to as many parties as your body will take you are in trouble.(your body and your pockets/bank account)

^^^^^^ I'm with ya Steve O. Count me out this time as I will be leaving early AZpril for a 2 week cruise thru the Panama Canal over to Cabo and end up in San Fran. Thinks thats a pretty good reason to miss something I have been to 5-6 times.

wmc has lost some appeal for me. too gosh dang expensive and stressful leading up to and after. i've been to 6 wmc's myself and i'm ready to try something else.

I have found a room for two at a hostel at 236 and 9th for $503 making that $201.50 & $431.34 for my flight = $632.84 8)

I would ideally say like 1st and 20th. I think a lot of the stuff occurs within these streets...aside from the stuff at the clubs downtown. If you're up at 30th, you might find yourself hiking a good bit every day - or trying to get a cab...

I wouldn't go higher than 20th.. especially if you're worried about spending ridiculous $$ on cab fare. You can save money by being within walking distance of most places. We stayed at the Carlton Hotel last year and it was pretty nice, and in the center of mostly everything.

WMC isn't cheap, but if you haven't gone before, it's definately worth the experience.

I'm not necessarily tired of Miami but I do have other places I want to visit... I'm not so sure i'm going to make it this year

I'd say the perfect place to stay is on Collins/Ocean/Washington between 8th and 16th since most of the events happen around that same area. You're not going to avoid a cab, but staying there will probably minimize most cab rides. I recommend you don't leave south beach either, except for maybe one downtown party since a cab ride will cost you $60-$70 round trip from SoBe to downtown and back again. definitely want to stay on south beach for this reason too. don't rent a car or drive because unless you're very lucky you'll get stuck paying parking costs of $20-$30/day. most places on south beach become pretty expensive during wmc so expect to spend near $200/night on a cheap hotel. I'd also buy tickets online for events that you plan on going to, but just because you have a ticket doesn't mean you won't be stuck waiting in a line for 1-2 hours to get in.

those are just the dates of the actual 'Conference' the parties will take place days prior to/after those listed dates. ;)

WMC 2008! March 25th to 29th

It's time to start getting ready for WMC!

After a crazy 2007, Basic NYC will be back at the Beach Plaza Hotel again for 2008. If you haven't been a part of the Beach Plaza experience yet, don't miss out this year. did you get the biggest room they had? It's been my experience that friends will always bail out on you if they said they're going unless they have already purchased their tickets... just don't get your hopes up for someone unless they've bought a ticket.

I sort of want to go now. :lol:
