I wasnt saying it, merely saying you can guarantee there will be some idiots who will think exactly that.
is it anything more than a midi controller?
no. its just that he designed it. i dont know why evolution didnt copy it almost exactly and sell that??? not too much different from the uc33.

imo its terrible news... its just going to encourage more ableton use :what

#923187Post 17 of 44

Re: Sasha's Maven Controller going into Mass Production

^^^yepper.

That and I don't doubt if the version for mass consumption doesn't have ALL the bells and whistles that Sasha's does.

Re: Sasha's Maven Controller going into Mass Production

Do you have a link to an "official announcement" from Sasha or the company that produces it?

What is the source of this information?

umm, nope, thats all it is.. i think it does a bit more.. but who knows, i think it just is made to look more like a mixer with a cross fader.. but regardless of how fischer price it looks, it is pretty cool.. bet the price tag will be ridiculous.

Its M-Audio that has helped out with this. Also it is not just a midi controller it is an audio interface, you will see near the headphone Jack you have Adat / spdif and out 1/2 which i presume is analogue. There is a headphone amp incorporated and although it looks fisher price it is obviously robust enough to have lasted for 2 - 3 years of touring the world. It’s quite a simple controller and you probably will find out that it has a few different m-audio devices inside a homemade box. I think that they will be able to charge a small fortune for this although the DJ market has died down a bit so it’s a hit and miss kind of situation.

The info was told to someone at this Vangraud LA gig...on Oct 06.

Sasha actually wanted the info to be leaked out.

Another quote:

"Just a note that Sasha told me to get the hype going for the Maven, so everyone feel free to post the pics in any forum that you think might be interested in it. Also be sure to hotlink the images from my site, don't re-upload them!"

Pics of the event.

The Maven shown is actually the second incarnation. It's been slightly modified since he initially used it 2-3 years ago.

Re: Sasha's Maven Controller going into Mass Production

I hope this is true :)

I just wonder if it cost the same or less then the Xone 3D

Re: Sasha's Maven Controller going into Mass Production

i wouldn't buy it unless it incorporated a flip-up monitor screen that's attached to it.

#930594Post 27 of 44

Re: Sasha's Maven Controller going into Mass Production

It's all tactical. He releases this, so everyone buys it, thereby emulating what he can do. A year later, he drops ableton and moves onto the next thing - and hence he has "reinvented" himself yet again.

wha'ts the next thing? vinyl?

Re: Sasha's Maven Controller going into Mass Production

I only want to get Sasha's controller if it beatmatches the stuff for me, picks the tracks for me, samples them for me, (re)mixes them for me...actually, I think I'll just get a stereo system.

Re: Sasha's Maven Controller going into Mass Production

The Korg Zero 8 is the best midi controller, audio mixer & audio interface on the market. If you are using Ableton, this thing rocks. http://www.korg.com/gear/prod_info.asp?a_prod_no=Zero8

:shock::shock::shock:

I might get that. Just need to find more info on it and compare it to the Xone:3D.

Re: Sasha's Maven Controller going into Mass Production

hi everybody.. just logged in here there seems to loads of fervour for music here

maven's launch wouldnt do any harm.. n sasha is sure to keep the launch model diff. from his own. It might just be a good thing as maven will push ableton big time into mainstream market!

Re: Sasha's Maven Controller going into Mass Production

some people says its very cheap looking.... im sure sasha doesnt give a flying fu/k what it looks like its what its capable of doing....people these days rea;lly annoy me... most djs only use the eq and cross fader and would not need this kind of control but just want it to show off..... sasha most importantly LOVES MUSIC..... and he wants to have control over ever single thing he can..... at fabric last year i heard him mixing up to 4 track that i knew anyway.... he had the bass from one track a hook from another pads looped from another and a phat break from one of luke chables tracks...cant remember track now but i was like his man fucking love what he is doing and is insanely inside the mix.....

#1173503Post 39 of 44

Re: Sasha's Maven Controller going into Mass Production

considering how expensive this would be. I think i'd rather just buy all those NANO controllers and use them. It would cost around $150 for all three and you could do probably all the same stuff as the maven can do.

Fuck, i just have to quote this guy. I don't know much about all this latest technoligy shit because i'm from the skool of the old '1's & 2's'. 'Sasha most importantly LOVES MUSIC'. I think people forget this. The man has always tried to push the boundaries, sometimes it has worked, sometimes not. Just let him do his thing. Nobody knocked it when they were first getting into him, so why now?
