Re: SASHA INVOLVER vol.2

Thats nice of GU to release a special edition of Involver. But I am not going to shell out money to buy Involver twice. I guess this is where slsk comes in handy. I'll be looking forward to hearing the 2nd CD.

Re: SASHA INVOLVER vol.2

I don't have much sympathy for record companies bleating about falling revenues and staff cuts when they pull stunts like this. Who is going to buy a CD upon release when they know that a 'new improved' version will be along in a couple of months...? And don't get me started on the BPI in the UK suing CDWow ....

The vinyl version doesn't even have four more Involver tracks - you get two more and two remixes that have been around for ten years. There will probably be another vinyl release in a while a couple more...

cheers, RH

Re: SASHA INVOLVER vol.2

It's getting time for a new + good Sasha CD....

Re: SASHA INVOLVER vol.2

I think Involver is good and would much rather DJs took their time and gave us something worth the wait. I'm all behind Sasha, Richie Hawtin, James Zabiela and the others who are pushing beyond the 'pile of 12"s and Protools' compilations. It's the marketing of it at GU I think is the problem.

cheers, RH

I agree that it's much better when the DJ puts in the time to make something original. Still, give GU the credit they deserve, they really revolutionized the mixed cd market, and have offered some really solid releases. They have stuck to their original formula, and you can't blame them for it. Besides, not everyone knows about [ms] (thank god)

#265259Post 28 of 63

My brothers got me a poncy signed pillow pack when he played 3-Beat records ... now I have an excuse to buy Involver without all the gay packaging.

Pity [ms] got rid of the auction page ... I could have flogged it to another board-member (that is, if there are any other Simon's here !).

#265260Post 29 of 63

involver was great but I take it the second cd is unmixed? btw if i hear in a state one more time i might punch a brick wall

Totally agree. I wasn't impressed with their special edition reissue of GU 25 (with only 1 extra track even - that fucking Let's Get Up and Let's Get Ill).

#265384Post 32 of 63

Re: SASHA INVOLVER vol.2

I too like cd1 much (especially in my car). Saw him on his promotional tour in Antwerp and it was great although I stayed clean and sober that night

Involver cd2 will be a nice 'add-on'

#265588Post 33 of 63

Re: SASHA INVOLVER vol.2

Ah, GU has learned the art of double dipping.
We release a CD first and then later tack on a special second CD, but the only way to get that second CD is to buy the whole special package. You can't get that second CD by itself

They do this all the time for DVD's, they release a simple dvd version with a few extras and then with all intentions a few months later they release a new special extra super duper ultimate edition DVD. The know the super fans will gobble up all available DVD version of their favorite movies. Look at how they released all there Lord of the Rings movies on DVD...

#265613Post 34 of 63

wow it's a real classic selection it seems nice.

Re: SASHA INVOLVER vol.2

disgraceful stuff from gu really, they can fuck off if they think im going to shell out for the same album with a half assed cd of 90's remixes glued on for no other reason than milking punters.

#265867Post 37 of 63

Re: SASHA INVOLVER vol.2

another attempt by the record company industry to rape their customers.

i find it funny how i see commercials about piracy, yet it is completely okay for the record industry to do this?

so, a big "F" and "U" to the riaa and the record companies.

i just have one word: soulseek.

#265952Post 38 of 63

Maybe they won't put this one in a gay pillow pack, hopefully it will be a duvet pack, or maybe a sleeping bag, that could work.

#265960Post 39 of 63

Re: SASHA INVOLVER vol.2

Would have been really nice to hear some of the other remizes he made for Involver which didn't make it on CD... bummer that it's all old stuff. On the Positive side, we can finally get our mits on the Grand National Tune!!!

#266138Post 40 of 63

Re: SASHA INVOLVER vol.2

Nice! Will bring some good memories back.... Good marketing strategy but hopefully there will not be a third installment with special bonus unreleased ultra-rare remixes!
