Absolutely tore the lid off Central Park (haha) amazing crowd and energy. Looked to be sold out. Will now always see them when they are even remotley close by - if you haven't seen these guys live - do yourself a favor and see them, new album "Oblivion with Bells" drops soon. Highlight was most definitely Rowla.

Setlist....

Luetin Dark Train "HMH Untitled-2" improv Crocodile Improv Pearl's Girl Improv Beautiful Burnout Two Months Off Rowla (!) 5 Foot 5 Glam Bucket Improv Rez/Cowgirl Small Conker and a Twix Born Slippy .NUXX King of Snake Jumbo

here is a link to someone's vid of Dark Train on myspace

  • cant wait to see these guys again. Wish I was able to go to Diggers afterward but I'm getting too old for that stuff :D

Thansk for the review mate, but I have a question intriguining me , I ve seen underworld two years ago in Zurich and the show was unbelivable , BUT why the hype about their shows, they dont mix songs in tooo each other , its just the little clowny boy singing live, so what are the other two guys doing really?

haha - what is John Digweed doing behind the console really?

They actually do blend the songs. The guys behind the console are sequencing etc. No different than any other electronic act like Orbital, Chemical Brothers etc.

Not more new material from the Oblivion with bells CD? Well at least they play their old hits different each time they perform them. Can't wait to see them in November on their tour.

Like TT said, they perform live and the same songs always sound just a bit different. How many electronic act puts on a live show like Underworld?? Maybe Infusion (without the fancy visuals), they're as energetic and angry-sounding as Underworld is lyrical and melodic, but I haven't seen a lot of live electronic acts that is so mesmerizing on stage. I'm sure RITM concerts are mad too but I've only seen video footages :what Aril Brikha rocks live, but he's one dude with his equipment in a console, no stage presence.

Re: Underworld in NYC 09-14-2007 report

Yes I agree with all what have been said about live acts, but comparing them to a DJ that jave to beat match and mix tracks in too each other isn't really valuing th DJs, it would be easier to play your own produced songs and just making sure they are well played then mixing alot of tracks all night long,.

This said Underworld are the shit live,(as I said got to see them on 2005 when they played Zurich), diffrent experience than seing a DJ play.
