Re: Sound off about the HD25 headphones...

best headphones in da phucking world!!!! i have mine over ten? years now and they are still workin'. i bought also a pair for my ipod listening pleasure when i am not at home. i will never buy another headphone anymore!!

some people say if they wear them a particular time (3-4hours) they will feel some kind of compression on their ears. i personally cant say anything about that...

edit i would recomend to buy a helix cable also if you get a pair.

listening to a pair as we speak, absolutely love them, very very good @ high volume but lacking in high frequency as they cut off around 22 khz ( more than enough considering thats about all our ears can hear  ), very punchy sound from them and good all round performers, i just bought a pair of hd650's and being top of the range sennhiesers i thought they would be better than hd25's but as soon as i heard them i came running back to my hd25's lol, the 650's are massively power hungry, show up compression in mp3 easily ( badly infact, u have no idea how bad mp3 sounds on them ) and need a headphone amp to be driven correctly, dont get me wrong they sound outstanding and so they should with double the frequency of hd25's but if ur going to be using ur headphones on different things then buy hd25's

Re: Sound off about the HD25 headphones...

I have the Sony 700's. I like them. I don't see/hear anything wrong with them. Nice quality so I mean how much better can these be?

If I had to throw a con at these 700's; its that after long periods of having them on, my ears begin to hurt. Not sure if its because they're heavy or the padding isn't soft enough.

its the little canals in the ear, not the outer or inner portion but the swirly mountain road part...lol if ya get what I mean.

But it's only when I have them on for a good 4 hours or something lengthy...

Quality wise, I think they're great.

:what

Re: Sound off about the HD25 headphones...

I've been thinking about getting a pair of these for quite some time. Right now I've got the sony mdr 700s, but can really make your feel like your ears are bleeding when forced to use at a high volume for a long period of times.

These are currently at the top of my list. Will probably be a few months before I can afford them though.

Re: Sound off about the HD25 headphones...

I definitely recommend them!

Re: Sound off about the HD25 headphones...

nice reference headphones for studio use, not for dj use imo, even though i see a lot of people djing with them. only reason i didn't get them is they lack a bit of punch, and felt a bit flimsy- which would be fine for home use, but not for lugging to gigs.

Re: Sound off about the HD25 headphones...

Guys, this may sound stupid, but what's the difference between Sennheiser Headphone HD 25-13 and Sennheiser Headphone HD 25-1 (besides the Nominal Impedance ).

#968434Post 18 of 26

Re: Sound off about the HD25 headphones...

^ I have been wondering the same thing. I believe that the nominal impedance and a slightly different design.

I don't understand nominal impedance though. I can only assume that I should go with the higher end ones.

Re: Sound off about the HD25 headphones...

Definiteley recommend them.....you can see the difference on these headphones playin at a club....

Re: Sound off about the HD25 headphones...

Trying to make a difficult decision. I've got some extra money, should I buy a much wanted but not necessarily needed pair of the HD 25s (I currently have a functional pair of sony's) or go see zabiela on march 1st.

I'm leaning towards the headphones since they will probably be cheaper than a night in chitown for me. But it's hard to pass up a chance to see jz!

Re: Sound off about the HD25 headphones...

headphones > jz - not even a tough choice.

Re: Sound off about the HD25 headphones...

i'm seeing more and more of my fav dj's wearing these things...makes me wonder what all the fuss is about.

Re: Sound off about the HD25 headphones...

If you need a new pair of headphones then go for it .... they are super light and very comfortable and ofcourse they sound better than my previous sony mdr v700's! Any one else got these ?

#970864Post 24 of 26

Re: Sound off about the HD25 headphones...

Pretty much every self respecting DJ in Finland seems to use them.

I can't really understand why most of the big boys use the Sony 700s which IMO suck monkey balls compared to these.

Re: Sound off about the HD25 headphones...

i'll be the first to say i don't get the HD25 for djing. they sound fantastic, yes, but for djing in a club, not what i'd want on my head. they are sonically pleasing for home use, but lack punch and isolation needed for a club environment. hate the headband design too. i think for djing purposes in a club your money is better spent on allen and heath or ultrasone. my .02.

Re: Sound off about the HD25 headphones...

Just got a pair

Sound quality is absolutely stunning, I haven't used anything that compares.

I could definitely see these being used in a club. They're very small but fit nicely against my ears.
