...just listened to his "Electrofly"-CD when driving to work.

This is the kind of sound that can easily bring a tear to your eyes and makes your hair stand up.

I love how he manages to have really straight forward pumping beats combined with wonderful meldodies.

Everybody is honoring Sasha?s Involver, but nobody seems to recognize that Chris? CDs are all made by himself, too. Only his 150%-productions, either tunes or remixes. Each CD of him is one thousand times better than "Involver".

His "Live@SF-Sessions"-CD is a real masterpiece as well.

Well you're actually misinformed on this one. His Electrofly set on Proton is actually the same as his Oslo Nights set from February as well as his Spring Mix that is (still) available on his site and these all open with: Darkarma - Focal Point Blur (Original Mix) which is not his original production. He does do the remix but Darkarma is actually a guy by the name of Patrick Campbell from Florida. Nevertheless it is a great mix.

That's actually getting a release on Vapour under a different name I think it's been reworked too He has three 12"s coming out on Vapour, one is out already, one is about to be promo'd and there's another one early next year I think

Chris produtions and mixes have some of the best base lines. Just really pounding stuff...great for the dance floor. He is one of my favs at the moment.

Micali and Kosmas Epsilon have been the two people whose work (production, remixes, sets) has consistently grabbed me. While there have been many noteworthy people in the past year, they haven't appealed as consistently.

i've been meaning to try to find some more of his sets.

I've got a discussion going on the GU board about Micali's DITF track. I've seen it several times (in the past few months) listed as Chris Scott - Down Inside the Fun (Chris Micali Mix) and I also know that it IS a remix of the Chris Scott tune. There is a guy on the GU board though who insists that Micali "cheated" on the remix of this track and that is the reason it is named DITF. Anyone know anything about this? I admit I'm clueless about how to "cheat" when remixing a tune.

as for the ditf track, i don't really want to go into it, but to make a too-long story short it was signed, the deal fell through, and scott had previously said i could sell the track under a different name if i wanted, so i figured i would just give it away. the whole thing was unpleasant, but its over now :)

Man, thanks for the info. I was blown away by the guy's accusations and just wasn't able to accept it. Really dig the tune by the way. Any chance you went to MIT? I know you're in the Boston-area and I was browsing an MIT website that mentioned something about a Micali method in mathematics or something like that...
