Sorry for the n00b question guys.... Just got a pc after being a mac user for the past 6 years. On XP, how do I rename the file from .exe to .mp3? When I use the rename feature through explorer (dialog box), it only changes the pre- .exe and not the actual file type.

Only way for me to do it is to go to the shell and rename from there. And with long file names, that's not cutting it. Thanks for the help.

ah. you need to add the file ext. at the get go, the *.whateve is not shown. so you need to enable that option to view.

also if it does not work. open media player, open file, and save as .mp3. That is another asdf_trick.

next one will be a $25 charge.

i have it set to always display file extensions on windows, if you dont it can be kind of a pain to rename without the default extension.. if you do that, it shouldnt be a prob, just replace .exe with .mp3

You can always save all the hassle and just drag it to winamp.
