currently:

1700 on the american express 500 on the mastercard 6000 student loans

not too bad, i know a lot of people who have a LOT more debt. I didn't have a job for 2 months and was basically living off my credit cards, so i'm currently paying those off. So, what about you guys?

I got a statement from them showing that I rack up ?31 a month in interest charges - then they tell me that they will be taking ?40 a month from my salary. Therefore I'm only paying ?9 a month off my debt. If they want to be that stupid I'll let them!

150k total for five years. 90k of that in scholarships and grants. I'll take it.

Man, I'd give my left nut for $60K. I'm finally down to a 5 digit number, but I'm in the upper $90K range in student loan debt. Otherwise, no significant unsecured debt to speak of -- couple of grand in credit cards, but that's just because of some recent and imminent travel, so that will be gone fairly soon.

Not counting the mortgage, of course, because I don't really think of that as "debt."

credit cards will be paid off in 2-3 months, but i'm about to cop a plasma hdtv for my room on my hhgregg card, so thats gonna put me in the hole $1500, but i have a year to pay it before interest kicks in.

actually...they want you to pay the minimum payment. they make more interest that way. its in your best interests to pay your debt down as fast as possible...

as for me...i've got $3,000 of a $25,000 line of credit i have to pay back. think my visa is maybe at $500.

ohh, and if you include my mortgage....then about $210,000.

actually, europe put the $$ into its own markets to support the liquidity needed by several large european funds who were in distress as a result of the sub-prime housing market. the US put in the money to their economy, no one else.

yea and it still did crap to the markets today...I have a bad feeling a LOT more will be needed to stabilize this mess.

Anyway, I've got a fair amount...~$50K total between everything (car, student, CC). Which isn't too bad I suppose...my sister just started her job today (~40-45K salary) and she owes like 6 figures :lol:

Ummm well... I got a position straight out of school that I had projected to have in 5 years. So yeah, I guess it was worth it. I should have it all paid off in a few years but all said I still hating paying the bill. :D

Guys, why is your student debt so high - how much is it to study business studies for just one year for example? You people are talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of debt just for school?

some schools cost 30-40k per year. it's pretty fucking ridiculous. i'm so glad i went to a state school, i took 5 years to finish and made it out with 17k in loans. i know plenty of employeers will laugh at my Umass degree thoough:lol:
