Its because of laws for distribution or copyrights or some BS like that. The only way that I've found is to go to Juno Download or search other d/l sites for the tune or until they market it on a label that sells to the US or outside of Europe. Its CRAP in my opinion, if you are willing to pay for it then sell it to me otherwise if I can't get it that way don't piss and moan about me getting it through illegal downloads. Am I right or not? :x

I used to love going into Neptune records in tampa and spend hours hunting through the pile. It was like the only store you could smoke in while you shopped. They would always be blasting the newest shit over the system, or handing you some of the newer records that they thought you would like. good times8)

Geez, granted it does suck when they pull the territory crap on ya, blame the music companies, rights don't always transfer across oceans, secondly there is so much music available today, missing out on one or two tracks is not going to be cause for mortal thoughts. As for ripping off tracks you only hurt the dance music scene, at least it's 2 or 3 bucks instead of 12.50 US with 8 dollars in shipping, furthermore the affordability (maybe not for everyone) has allowed myself to explore other genres of dance music and work them into mixes. Why be bitter?

^^That was the downside...I was broke all the time..I was buying about 30 records @ $9-$10 each every week. :shock: It was a a good addiction though. :D I now have a nice collection that I never play(All Mp3 now).... I am buying a nice shelf for them, and I will remember the memories they brought me for a long long time. 8)

You should not blame beatport. You should blame the record labels. I have found many of the same tracks by searching by the artist name, track name, remix artist, etc. You can also just purchase from another site, this was mentioned above. Yes it is very frustrating when you find a track and you can not buy it, but it is not over. You just got to grab it from another music site. ;)

tbh it doesnt really bother me unless i really REALLY want a song, usually the same song is rereleased on another label who has the rights to sell it in other countries, fuck things like slsk, hate it, u should be patient and also shop around for what ur looking for, beatport isnt the only place u can buy online, 9 times out of 10 u can buy direct from the labels own webpage :roll:

Defenitely there are several other sites to venture out to not just BeatPort. It is a pain in the ass to be denied a purchase, just like being denied a green card, but don't sweat it. Give someone else your money or resort to Soulseek or Lime Wire.

anyways, the point here is that why the hell do they put tracks there that you cant buy, its stupid...can they filter by IP address or something, and it happens constantly..this is like the 4th time it's happened to me.

I don't understand it either. I know why they SAY they do it. But hell when people sold vinyl all the time. I never heard of these restrictions, But those tracks that you really wanted, you usually had to pay more for because they were on labels that didn't ship much to the states.

You know what's weird - I wanted to use Cicada's song Elle et Moi for a school project last fall. Beatport wouldn't let me buy it because of the territory thing, so I bought it from the iTunes store without any problems.
