Re: john digweed transitions 3 info

Good to see some up and comers as well as some of Diggers fav artists lately on this disc. Haven't some of these tracks surfaced on the Bonarroo set?

#895118Post 10 of 39

Re: john digweed transitions 3 info

^^^ I really hope track 3 from the bonarroo set is on here!

#895123Post 11 of 39

Re: john digweed transitions 3 info

Whoa, 20 tracks on 1 cd?

#895124Post 12 of 39

Re: john digweed transitions 3 info

yeah - 20 is a lot. Kinda like a Z trip or Shadow set...

Speaking of 20+ per track, have any of you guys ever heard Woob's "On Earth" from Em:t 1194? If not - get after it - could be the best EDM chillout song ever.

Why oh why does he have to fit 20 tracks on one CD??? There are some excellent tracks on this compilation that need room to breath; is the record company out of CD'S???????

Re: john digweed transitions 3 info

^ I agree. He should let some records play out longer. I understand he's trying to feature as much music as possible but it's hard to enjoy some tracks because by the time they've been mixed in it seems they're already being faded out.

Example from Transitions 2: G-Stylz - Can't Get Enough.

Re: john digweed transitions 3 info

Needs to make a two cd set

#898096Post 22 of 39

Re: john digweed transitions 3 info

if the man wants to pack 20 tracks on a disc i'll hear him out.

#898106Post 23 of 39

Re: john digweed transitions 3 info

^^ me too...20 is on the aggressive side, but I definitely don't like just hearing 10 and seeing that called a "full length mix", either...

TL looks pretty, artist-wise..

Re: john digweed transitions 3 info

He said this will be heads down, relentless stuff. I think 20 tracks is just what the doctor ordered to keep this moving at the pace he's described.
yeah - 20 is a lot. Kinda like a Z trip or Shadow set...
That would be more like 30+ tracks in a mix.

If it is going to be a snapshot of how he has been playing live as of late and this is supposed to be a peak hour CD, then 20 tracks on one disc is perfect. I just saw him and Sasha this past Saturday at the Virgin fest, and I was shocked to hear he was playing the way he used to- very aggressive and relentless. I'm not much of a trainspotter these past two years, but he was playing quick builders. No build was lasting more than two minutes, and each build was exploding with a massive break. He wouldn't stop either, just one after another and the crowd was lapping it up. Quite a bit different than the Northern Exposures days of 5 minute mixes and long drawn out tracks. Hopefully this comp is one monster after another. And 25 minutes of pure Bedrock bliss to end it....cant wait.

Re: john digweed transitions 3 info

Haven't you guys heard? Digweed is playing techno now. Slamming 20 tracks into a one-hour mix is nothing. :what

Sounds like something to look forward to if that's what vol. 3 is gonna be like. Might even try playing volumes 1-3 b2b

Can't wait to check out another Transitions album. The first 2 def. take me on a journey and I have yet to get sick of them. The man keeps cranking out quality stuff......now I'm hoping for another U.S. portion of a tour to come rolling through. 8)

x2

I think his JDJ and first Bedrock comp were the best single-disc comp I've heard from him. Been said before, he's one DJ that needs double-disc comps. Would be interesting to hear what he does with a three-disc comp though.
