Road Trip: Mexico
Re: Road Trip: Mexico
Just be extra careful. My family and I got hit up for cash by the police the first time we ever drove to Mexico. I hope I don't offend anyone... I'm just being honest. I'm sure picklemonkey looks like a gringo that's all. Good luck.
Re: Road Trip: Mexico
no shit? what happened?
Re: Road Trip: Mexico
Now I don't mean to scare you, or offend anyone. ALL we did is to have California plates inside Mexico. Lucky for us we're fluent in Spanish (We're hispanic) and we just asked what did we do? We told them we were just there for the weekend and that we'd hate to immediately turn around and leave Mexico... We asked if we were targeted because of the foreign plates. The cop denied it... That is my personal experience, yours might be different.
Re: Road Trip: Mexico
Check out whose spinning at Tangaloo in TJ in advance, always carry a knife, don't carry any money, bring someone who speaks spanish, good luck!
jk about the knife
Re: Road Trip: Mexico
Check out the national park near Monterrey. Great hiking trails and places for mountain climbing 'n' stuff. No knife needed.

Re: Road Trip: Mexico
Mexico is a lot of fun, if you were pulled over, you must of done some kind of traffic violation.
if youre trying to go somewere were theres a busy nightlife i would recomend going to Monterrey, or Tijuana, those are the busiest one, Juarez has a decent nightlife also, and its a very common place for turists.
http://www.sectur.gob.mx/wb2/secturing/sect_2_home you can get some tourism info in here.
http://www.visitmexico.com/wb/Visitmexico/Visi_Home heres another one.
heres a guide to Juarez. http://www.juarez-mexico.com/ i would say one of the best clubs in Juarez is this one: http://www.thehardpop.com or another one called la serata http://www.laserata.com
have fun, and safe driving.
Re: Road Trip: Mexico
Great Clubs and Partys all around Mexico, for Tijuana check out kimika.org and plurfm.com, for Juarez someone alredy posted some info, and in Monterey there's this place called Loft and the guys forn Nrmal put out some really good partys, and remember Mexico is what you make of it, of course theres some truth to all those scary tales, but common sense helps anywhere, what you wouldn't do in your own country, don't do it anywhere else, enjoy.
Re: Road Trip: Mexico
theres lots of great great clubbing in monterrey check on tca.com for details. and none of those dumbass stories is true if you stay on the cool cities don't go to shitty towns and you'll be fine.

If you are talking to me you are WRONG. Don't assume that I did ANYTHING wrong other than set foot into a country with questionable law enforcement.
Re: Road Trip: Mexico
If you go to TJ go to either Andelitas or Chicago Club..... a lot of hott women :Naughty:
Re: Road Trip: Mexico
Strongly recommend that you not take your car, and that you rent when you get down there. More than anything else, your insurance might not cover you there. Make sure you check before you take your car across the border.

Don't get mad. Many Americans get horrible diarrhea when they drink the water down south, that's all. :D

Bring a gun.
Just kidding, a friend of mine travelled 4 weeks trough all of mexico, nothing happend.
Re: Road Trip: Mexico
He asked about northern Mexico and you guys are talking about TJ. That doesn't count. If you're going to Baja California then you want to head south and if you go to that main portion of Mexico, you still want to go south. Northern area sucks, that's why the better food is in the south. ;)
Re: Road Trip: Mexico
oh yeah, i got hustled by the cops there for walking in the street and not paying attention.
dont forget that the drug gangs do more policing than the army.
