So what are everyone's thoughts on the new B-Boy cd. It is released today and I can't wait to get. Glad they went back to there roots and made an old school cd. Can't wait to hear it. I reeally like the ch ch check out song.

#197297Post 2 of 42

I like the sound alot more than I did the like of 'Hello Nasty'. Kinda reminds me a little of the 'Paul's Boutique' sound. I will be picking it up later on today as well.

#197299Post 3 of 42

I've been anxiously awaiting this since they leaked Ch ch check it out!!

Huge B-Boys fan! I especially loved their brief but memorable stint into instrumental Trip-Hop style music! (In sounds from the way out)

#197367Post 4 of 42

I think its fucking hot. alot of political shit but definately fresh sounds.

#197408Post 5 of 42

#197783Post 12 of 42

soulseek was no-where to be found {and i really wanted to hear it :( }

#197890Post 13 of 42

most reviews i've heard have it as about 3 of 5 stars. of course i haven't heard it yet so i'll have to reserve judgement.

#197891Post 14 of 42

It's a decent album, however I'd liken it back to License to Ill more than Paul's Boutique. It's way too short too.

#197893Post 15 of 42

I also am sharing it on slsk if you guys need it: Jshockmtl

But i didnt like the album that much. Bored me quite a bit. I think i have to sit down and listen to it again. Too soon to pass my final judgement

#197901Post 16 of 42

im gonna have to pick it up and see what its all about..ive always been a fan of the beasties so im sure they wont let me down

#197931Post 17 of 42

I've been a huge fan of the boys from the start and on first impression, I really like the album. Sounds like they're finally back into their ole NY groove. Not their best album, but lyrically it's up there. It just leaves a bit to be desired musically, imo. Some tight beats and all and some fresh samples in there, but it doesn't sound anywhere as "layered" and deep as their other albums. All in all, it's nice to hear the boys sounding like their old selves. Can't wait to see them again :D

#197935Post 18 of 42

ive heard reviews that this cd is more on the hip hop side of things.is this true??

#198051Post 19 of 42

I downloaded it but deleted it again - to me bb is just not the same - I prefer the stuff inbetween license to ill and hello nasty.

perhaps we just grew apart :(

#198166Post 20 of 42

Keep hearing good reviews, so deffo going to have to check this out methinks 8)

#198723Post 21 of 42

I'm don't like this music..

#198746Post 22 of 42

It was ok, I'm not rushing out to buy it or anything. I prefer their older stuff, and this CD just had too many NY related songs, and stupid political propaganda. I mean they don't stop, 2-3 of the songs are about nothing other then NY and thats all they talk about.

They claim to love NY so much, talk about 9/11 and how it sucked and then the next song is about how we shouldn't be at war with other countries, and learn understanding of other cultures. Crap. I understand that Islamic terrorists have waged war on us, and the entire western world. And 9/11 was proof. Ignorance and contradictorary nonsensicle rabling throughout.

Why can't they just be themselves like the old days of the Jazzy goodness on the two Grand Royale albums.

#198784Post 23 of 42

I thought the album is ok... Def. nothing new or groundbreaking. Am i gonna run out and buy it anytime soon becuase I need it. Probabably not.

#198835Post 24 of 42

I have not heard it yet, but geez it took them what 5 years to make a new album? and from what I am reading it is avg at best. They are gettin up there in age...Probably mid to late 30's There def past there prime....I would def go some them live though.

#198839Post 25 of 42

its ok but not something i think will play over and over again like check your head or pauls

#198933Post 26 of 42

True they have better cds but it is nice to have a new beastie boys cd finally. I have to say I like this cd a lot more then hello nasty. Not a big fan of hello nasty. Paul's and check ur head are my favorites. Ill comunication is also good too.

#198951Post 27 of 42

i really enjoy this album, i bought the japanese version of it because it comes with some extra sniplets and stuff. should get it this week or next. cant wait. ive listened to it in mp3 format the passed couple of weeks and i really enjoy it. i love this kind of old school rap. beastie boys know how to rap proper. better than these poppish crap lately.
