I'm pretty fucking pissed off right now. I spent about 6 hours last night putting together all the finishing touches on my program which was supposed to be aired on the 6th of the month. Then I go to www.dimensionalradio.com and look what I see.WE'RE CLOSED BITCHES - THANKS FOR NOTHING!!!

This fucking guy needs to be beat badly for having that kind of business sense and not even telling his dj's that he was about to shut it down again. This is aparently the third or 4th time i have heard about this guy shutting down and then restarting.

I'm totally of the thought that people like this need to be shut down permanently. For they do NO Good for EDM and music in general.

Re: I just found out that I was cancelled from Dimensional Radio

Calm down mate. You make out like it's a piece of cake running an internet radio station for the community. I'm sure this guy put in a lot of hard work too with little reward.

He'd be pissed too that this has gone down the drain, and I think his efforts would be considered a good thing for the scene.

Re: I just found out that I was cancelled from Dimensional Radio

Ok people here is the deal, right from the owner: I created Dimensional Radio a few years ago mainly to promote myself and other local (Pensacola FL) DJ's and give them all a chance to be heard on a web based radio station around the world. The first few months went by slow with little support but then things began to pick up. I had big name DJ's sending me promo mixes to get aired on the broadcast. People like: The Low End Specialists, Tony Estrada, Simply Jeff, Filo & Peri, Blake Jarrell, Serge Devant, Gabriel & Dresden and many more. Well for those of you who dont know, its hard to get big name DJ's to send you mixes especially when your a really unknow website/station but somehow it all worked out. Think this sounds good right? Well it was in a way, but the real reason for creating this site was for Unknown DJ's to get their mixes out not Superstar DJ's to play. Well here is the problem. Pensacola doesnt support shit!! 90% of the so called DJ's in this town dont support anything unless they are the ones playing or its their best friend. No wonder why the scene is dead around here. I tried and tried for the longest to get something going and it didnt happen so I moved on to helping other DJ's from around the globe get their names out to people. Finally some support!! Now the site/broadcast start to take off. I had an average of 10-15 listeners per day and for those of you who dont know thats pretty damn good for a new online broadcast! Things were going good until I made the decision to join the Military, so of course I had to shut this project down, hell I was gone for months and couldnt take care of it. This was the 2nd time it had went offline, the first was because my son was born and for the first year I didnt do shit except spend time taking care of him and work. Well now the 3rd and final time has come to end it all for good! Why? Lack of support mainly, not to mention I work a fulltime job as a Firefighter, I own my own Lawn Care business plus I am still in the Military so I really have No free time to do anything not to mention this site has cost me $15 per month out of my pocket for hosting and other expenses plus having to try and make time to host shows on the broadcast. Its hard by yourself!! Now for all of you who say you support, explain to me this: Why did 99% of you never join the Dimensional Radio forum and be active in it? Why didnt most of you take a banner or something and stick it in your Sig on forums or put it on your Myspace page? Why didnt you send in mixes to be aired for people all over the globe to hear? Why did those of you who did take banners and use them only promote the site if and when your mix would be on? No answers huh? I tried people but when you have no support things fall apart, I cant do it all alone! For those of you who did back me and help me on this (very Few), THANKS! For those of you who have negative things to say about me or my site I created, get a life! To all the DJ's who had shows on the site, I am sorry it can no longer go on. I apologize for no earlier warning..

Jeffrey, you are one cranky little baby.

Re: I just found out that I was cancelled from Dimensional Radio

too bad that it didn't work out for him, that's how things are sometimes. I'm sure he put in a lot of hard work into it and it was frustrating to see it not pan out.

But that said, I know that if I was spending my time putting together mixes for that site I would appreciate at least a heads up. "Hey, we're pulling the plug tomorrow. I really appreciate all of your hard work, but I can't keep this running anymore. Thanks for your dedication, best of luck to you." Not hard to do...you'd think those folks who put their time and effort in and did obviously support your site would be worth it.

#871746Post 12 of 30

Re: I just found out that I was cancelled from Dimensional Radio

 If he makes the decision to pull the plug on the station, he pulls the plug. It would make no difference if he made the decision, then waited a whole day and then pull the plug.

When you make a decision that's that.

I don't think many people realise the amount of free time these types of people pour in to their community based projects. This site included. I for one know I don't have the strengths in my character to do it successfully. Congrats to all that can handle it.

Jeffrey - stick your mix in the member's promos section instead of shelfing it so your fans can still hear it.

Having said that, I will personally thank TomTom from the bottom of my heart who has put way more heart and soul into MercuryServer than the entire team put together. He single handedly pulled off the launch of Mcast, the MS 5th year B'Day and the MS Contest having put in more than 3 - 4 hours of work each DAY.

Kudos to you Tom. 8)

It's not about when you make the decision. It's about informing your DJs rather than killing the webpage and walking away without a word...while they continue to work for you. That's something called courtesy.

But yeah in the grand scheme of things it's inconsequential, of course. I don't even know the guy so I'll stop here.

Re: I just found out that I was cancelled from Dimensional Radio

it seems like online radios aren't really the in thing anymore... seems like its more podcasting, etc where people can listen at their own free will. sorry things didn't work out for dimensional radio. i supported it some time back before our dear friend had to go overseas and support his country. no shame in that. there are more important things in life like supporting yourself and your family than dj'ing or hosting a radio site.

senor collins - there are still other ways to get that set you made out and about for people to listen to... like podcasting. ;)

Re: I just found out that I was cancelled from Dimensional Radio

edm is a dodgy scene anyways and not exactly known for its stellar business practices, while the house scene isn't nearly as bad as the drum n bass scene in this regard, its still pretty awful, and when you deal with things on online-only terms it perpetuates this. Sorry to hear d-radio got canceled, but things like that happen.

sounds to me like he just set it up,payed the bills and expected everyone else to do all the hard work to make his station what he wanted it to be

$15 a month for that really aint alot of money imo, if i could get that kinda service for that kind of money over here i would do 1 myself

exactly what he DIDN'T do. Maybe if I were told a week or so before hand I wouldn't have gotten so bent out of shape.

I'm going to put the mix that would have been up on there in the promos section as soon as I can. It's a nice mix for summertime fun. I tend to change my styles as the seasons change.

That guy busts his ass for this place. And tons of respect for that.

#871977Post 24 of 30

Re: I just found out that I was cancelled from Dimensional Radio

I still can't believe this guy is getting ripped by you guys for running an internet radio station for no one's enjoyment except your own.

I'm starting to see why he packed it in, you're all a bunch of c*nts to him when he poured all his spare time in to running a non-profit radio station for you guys :(

#872256Post 25 of 30

Re: I just found out that I was cancelled from Dimensional Radio

No, as you can see, he might have paid for it, but did almost NONE of the promotion, expected everyone in Fla to do his promotion for him along with the dj's on the show. Of which I did a ton of promotions all over myspace and on every music forum I am on.

You wanna call someone a cunt, go look in the mirror.

#872299Post 26 of 30

Re: I just found out that I was cancelled from Dimensional Radio

 OK... so he sat around doing nothing all day while he reaped the "rewards" of running his booming empire.

#872423Post 27 of 30

Re: I just found out that I was cancelled from Dimensional Radio

But I do see Jeff's point in that the guy should've communicated with the artists first - that would've been the most professional thing to do.

#872424Post 28 of 30

Re: I just found out that I was cancelled from Dimensional Radio

i think closing the site down got the message across. lol. :D

#872558Post 29 of 30

Re: I just found out that I was cancelled from Dimensional Radio

Yes, that was VERY unprofessional. And I'm sure the other dj's that were on there....i don't think there was many, but i'm sure they are a bit pissed off about it. Me...yeah truly because I was trying to do on a smaller scale what digweed does every week. Bring in an hour of me spinning and then an hour of an up and comer that i thought was good.

Oh well. Things like this happen in life...we just need to move on and learn from our past.

#873883Post 30 of 30

Re: I just found out that I was cancelled from Dimensional Radio

Jeffery, dude you are the biggest bitch I have ever met. You didnt do shit really to help the site out. You never posted on the forum, you never really promoted the site until it was the night of your show and you didnt support the other DJ's/People associated with the site. You act like you work soooo hard to do a mix and have it aired, give me a damn break! If it was such a chore then you shouldnt have asked to do it! None of the other people bitched about the site closing, they all know how hard it is to do something with little or no support and support my decisions with the site. Try working 2 jobs, serve in the military and raise a 4 year old then try to run a successful radio website and tell me how it all goes.

$15-20 a month may not sound like alot but when your basically blowing it for no support what good does it do? I sure want getting any support out of it personally, hell I never hardly even put my mixes up just so others could have the spotlight.

Last but not least I never expected anyone to do the promotions for me! I posted shit all over the internet about all the shows and website info and gave alot of info by word of mouth so where you got the notion I expected everything your way wrong!
