Could very easily give up beer I reckon!

Has anyone ever given it up for an extended period of time? I went the whole of January this year without touching a drop, and I gotta say I felt great physically and didn't really miss it? As I get older my hangovers are getting worse and I'm starting to think is it all worth it:)
