hey, I got accepted to live in france for a year and teach english to little kids in public schools. they're sending me to the bordeaux area, anyone spent time around there? lots of wine is cool, but what about the nightlife in the region?

Re: Bordeaux
Sounds like a great opportunity. Enjoy the wine.
Re: Bordeaux
yes, pick up as much chateau lafite rothschild as you can and store it away for 10 years. that stuff is a goldmine, and im sure quite tasty.
Re: Bordeaux
oh, petrus too.
Re: Bordeaux
I bet those kids over there will be able ten times easier to teach than american kids. That and you'll probably get a really long lunch everyday, as they tend to be very laid back.
Congrats bro.

Store it away for longer than 10 years for sure. As far as wine in the Bordeaux region goes I prefer to stick to left bank wines (St Estephene, Pauillac, Medoc, and Haut-Medoc) where your Lafite-Rothschild and Brion are found, although a nice Bordeaux Superieur always hits the spot. And my favorite from all of France is either a Cotes-du-Rhone or Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
Congrats tiddles.
Re: Bordeaux
Have a great time over there.
Re: Bordeaux
I can't believe you CHOOSE to go to France.
