has google's search become worse over the years...?

i think it has, it used to be google was the place to go when you needed to find something, now i'm finding out google is becoming a useless hyped up peice of shit. Whatever search algorithm those two geeks who founded it came up with certainly isn't in place now. I've been finding out yahoo is better, anyone else feel me on this?

Although I wouldn't say it has gotten worse per say. But I notice that it times out quite a bit. Especially in the past few months. Sometimes I say fuck it and go to [url]www.alltheweb.com[/url] which is a good alternative to google.

i think the variety of pages that its spiders search has increased greatly over a period of time, maybe that is why you are experiencing problems, how much do u dig?

personally i dont have any problems with it @ all

they just redid their sites yesterday trying to integrate all the different search engines more. notice the bar at the top of the search homepage now.

Specialty search engines will be on the rise, and there is good reasons for this. Currently the serps on Google, and Yahoo! have become a royal mess! Finding relevant content is very difficult, and you can not blame spammers for this! Google in particular as tightened it’s algo so much to fight spam that it has become the worse search engine for relevancy as proven by various experiments by individual seo webmasters who monitor the top 3 search engines for relevance.

Its not that.. its spammer sites that trick the search engines into indexing their shit.

Example: search for something that you want to buy, it's likely that you will get hits that are revelent to the subject but as you dig into the sites you will hit retail sites like target, bedbath and beyond and random internet sites advertising products that no longer exist, links have been moved etc..

Faulty hits due to spam overload.

How have they come up with all of the $$$ they have of recent? I don't pay them to use there site so who is paying them?

Nothing wrong with Google. And I use the search engine with my Google account so it keeps track of my searches. Helps to refine the hits I think (?)
