Going to see Hernan Cattaneo DJ at The Cross, London tonight, and i'm pretty excited. I am really digging his sound of late, some of the tunes he has been caning have been quality:)

Unfortunately I'm on driving duty so can't drink, but it means i'll probably remember it better in the morning!

I'll let you all know how I get on..............

Whatever you do, don't mention the war...

I hope for your sake that Lee Burrito isn't warming up for Hernan

Re: Just on my way out to see Hernan!

If only some of them have been quality, have the rest been the usual fodder? :p
i have to say hernan is not hernan any more
Ok I give up! Who is he?????

Seriously, His radio shows vary because he obviously keeps trying new stuff and not everyones taste is the same. He's still putting out stuff that I love though, and I'm looking forward to getting Sequential 2 :D And seeing him June 9 :D

Re: Just on my way out to see Hernan!

Well I'm home - I've had 2.5 hours sleep and now I have to go out and play Sunday football this morning, but it was totally worth it!

Caught the end of Neil Quigley's set, he played a couple of nice tunes, then Ben Korbel came on from 1-3am. He was a MAJOR disappointment though. Apart from 3-4 tracks near the end I thought his set was very poor - nothing stood out, it was plain house track after plain house track.

When Hernan came on at 3am he just caned the floor from the off - this was peak-time Hernan and it was brilliant. You know that feeling when every tune is just brilliant, quality basslne after quality bassline? Well that's what it was like - I hardly recognised a tune he played, and I religiously listen to his show weekly, so I'm looking forward to the next few shows!

His mixing was also just sublime, you couldn't even tell when and where he was mixing. Defiitely my #1 DJ at the moment, so glad I went. God I love clubbing!

Re: Just on my way out to see Hernan!

great to hear, hernan's one of the few dj's that i haven't heard yet that i'd really like to. never really got into his metrodance sets, but as more and more dj's go the minimal electro route, i appreciate the fact that he's kept his sound.

Re: Just on my way out to see Hernan!

Hernan played from 3am til 6am, but the lads I was with were wrecked so they wanted to go at 5, and as I was on driving duty I reluctantly agreed.

No photos of Hernan, we just got a couple of us in the club really.

Won football 2-1 - with me scoring the winner, happy days!!!!!!!!

Re: Just on my way out to see Hernan!

Cheers Greg - its great to hear that Hernan's bang on form (lets face it, when isn't he !!) I hate those late sets and its a shame you missed the last hour as a result ... its ok when you're in ibiza and can go out late/pace yourself, but in the UK its a nightmare (especially given that we Brits tend to like a few pre-show drinks). The main attraction should come on at 1.00 at the latest and leave others the graveyard shift. There's nowt worse than hearing a shite DJ for 2-hours between 1 and 3 (Jon Carbon did this slot with Sasha at Godskitchen and the crowd was pissed off & tired by the time Sasha came on). I'm eying up Hernan's Renaissance dates at Pacha (last year he played with Sasha and the very under-rated Marcus James - awesome night). Why wasn't Marcus opening for Hernan ???

Re: Just on my way out to see Hernan!

I'm not sure why Marcus wasn't playing to be honest? I agree with you, the main attraction should be on a 1am onwards, that's why I was so surprised to see ben Korbel (who lets face it is relatively unknown in the UK) play the 1-3am slot. As I said above, I didn't rate Korbel's set at all, altough he did play 3 astounding tracks near the end of his set but that was it really.

I am rough as anything today but it was so worth it, still got the tunes in my head. There was a guy standing next to me filmin loads of stuff, he said he was going to put it on youtube so I might have a gander over there later just so I can hear the tracks again!

Re: Just on my way out to see Hernan!

Well I'm actually floating on a cloud at the moment.:D I've been absolutely busting to talk about this, but I wasn't allowed to until it was official. Hernan is playing in Melbourne with possibly the two best crews and pretty close to the best little [well medium size] club here. Darkbeat and Sunny present Hernan Cattaneo at Brown Alley 9th June. Minimum 4 hr set!! This is like my personal wish list, it just could not get any better. On top of this I got to listen to the promo of Sequential 2 today as well !!:D:D:D
