Re: Any tips for Rome?
i've been to rome 2x, but i've never gone to a club or bar...basically did the touristy/restaurant things. if you're staying at a hotel, i'd ask the front desk...tell them that you want to go to a non-touristy place...they'll be more than happy to send you to their favorite spots....we were never disappointed...the taxi driver actually got lost once, so you know it's a good place when that happens....anyway, i do have a pizza recommendation for you. i, as well as everyone i went with, believe it's the best pizza we've ever had/ever will have. here's what to do. go to the vatican. if you're standing in st. peters, walk towards the vatican and go to the right, through the pillars. you'll see a long road with stores and a lot of people. go down that road to the end (you'll come to a major road) and make a right. go down a little bit (50 yards?) and you'll see a yellow sign that says PIZZA with tables/chairs outside. that's it. i think the name is pizzeria pizzestre or something like that...but it doesn't say the name...just says PIZZA and it has signs on it about their award winning pizza. if you don't see those signs, you're at the wrong place. get the pizza with tomato/fresh mozzarella/basil. you'll thank me later. i have their business card at home, so when i get back from work, i'll give you the exact name/location. ciao.

Re: Any tips for Rome?
A couple of tips....
Bar it in Trastevere, just over the river from the centro storico (south of piazza navona/campo dei fiori) but don't expect it to get busy until 11.30 - after that it's still buzzing at 3. There's loads of restaurants along the alleys to choose from to keep you occupied till then.
This Saturday (18th) is Notta Bianca, meaning the whole of the centre, trams, buses, shops, bars and everything open through the night 24h. :)
If you want clubbing ask a taximan to take you to the Testaccio clubs, there's loads all in one spot, but expect seeeeeeeeeeriously pricey drinks and dress up, not down. Have a look at this site for a rundown:

Alien, Goa, and Gay Village (not as gay as the name makes out but may now be closed until next summer) are down that way.
