Re: do we have any doctors around?
take it from the expert on the subject, having had allergies and asthma my entire life, i know what works for this kind of shit...
get something called entex: http://www.drugs.com/entex.html
if that stuff doesn't cure ya, nothing will...
Re: do we have any doctors around?
stop drinking milk and using dairy products. i've suffered from chronic sinusitis for years, and taking dairy out of the diet has cleared it up.
Re: do we have any doctors around?
sinusitis sucks balls... i have a friend that has it and his breath smells like a pile of horse shit.

Guiness should do the trick.

Guinness is an appropriate cure for pretty much anything, IMO.

Re: do we have any doctors around?
not much you really can do. Take long hot showers or stick your nose in steam. If you typically have sinus issues because of allergies, ask your doc for Flonase or Nasonex.

Re: do we have any doctors around?
blow your nose and get rid of all the mucus stuck up your head! That's whats causing the pressure, compact mucus! yuk, smoke a fat bowl too!
Re: do we have any doctors around?
Eat hot spicy foods with loads of chili. Makes your nose run and the pressure will be gone. Always works for me.
Re: do we have any doctors around?
I get infected sinuses everytime I have a cold ! A couple of weeks ago I got cold symptoms, sore throat etc, and I started eating medihoney [manuka umf 10% active] for the throat . First time in living memory I haven't had any sinus problems, and the cold lasted 4 days!!!
Re: do we have any doctors around?
Get yur hands on Clembuterol. Originally they use it on astmatic horses, but cyclisyts take it as well as doping ;)

Regarding preventative measures, sleep with your windows SHUT especially when the seasons are changing, and buy one of these: I seriously tell everyone about these, they really clean the air, then again I'm highly allergic to dust.

Re: do we have any doctors around?
Take a shot of Afrin in each nostril as well as some Sudafed. I read a recommendation from a doctor about flying with a sinus infection and I happened to get one some months back. This was what she recommended... take Sudafed at least 30 minutes preflight and a shot of Afrin in each nostril during ascent and descent and let me tell you, that fucking worked like a charm. It was great.
Re: do we have any doctors around?
so the pain and pressure is from the buildup of puss and inflammation in the sinuses. some of the products people have mentioned might help, although the stuff that will make them work will work best if they are used topically, at the site of the problem. entex, is taken orally, so though it could work, chances are, prob not. same for clenbuterol if it's oral. flonase is actually topical, so though not directly into your sinuses, some will get there, but it's a steroid and needs to be prescribed. if you can get your hands on a nebulizer that aids in delivery of any of the above drugs in vapor form to your respiratory system, then that will work, but your best bet is to take some anti-inflammatories like tylenol or advil and just wait for the antibiotics to do its work. or ask your doctor for some stronger pain killers.
Re: do we have any doctors around?
^ | sorry, but oral can be just as effective as topical treatments. flonase is a corticosteriod, which means one treatment doesn't do crap. you have to be taking it for at least a few days to see real results. and nasonex is actually a better choice than flonase, having tried both myself.
entex makes sudafed look like a sugar pill. it has a mucas-inhibitor as well as a timed release decongestant. it is the absolute best i've tried, and like i said...i've done pretty much everything under the sun to try and keep my allergies at bay.

sorry i offended. all i'm going on is what i know about pharmacokinetics and what i was taught. so based on what i was taught, corticosteroids in that one administration can relieve the inflammation, which is part of what is causing him pain. it's what the stars inject themselves with when they have that pimple. fast acting anti-inflammatory. how does that not work? and if it goes into the bloodstream, it'll prob give him an euphoric boost. and i just checked nasonex's website. it's preferred 2-1 by consumers for taste and smell, but not efficacy. lastly, guaifenesin isn't a mucas inhibitor. i don't think they've made a mucas inhibitor yet, or at least it seems it's still in laboratory phase of things. guaifenesin works by decreasing the amount of mucus in the respiratory tract by thinning it out and allowing it to be brought out of the problem area through the ciliary action of the upper respiratory tract. anyway, i haven't suffered from allergies for most of my life so i wouldn't know first hand how these things work, and anyone reading this should probably take personal experience more seriously because ultimately it's how these drugs actually help the patient and not the theoretical of pharmacokinetics.
Re: do we have any doctors around?
no, no offense was taken.
insuflated corticosteriods don't work like injected corticosteroids. they say it will work in one treatment, but it doesn't relieve the inflamation like you would hope. and there is no real entrance into the blood stream...definitely no euphoria (not that i've noticed euphoria from oral or injected steriods either).
