not sets but albums, where is that RECENT electronic music album thats gonna blow me away? it may seem like i'm asking for too much but i'm looking for something along the lines airdrawndagger or dominik eulbergs' flora + fauna. Something that basically re-writes the entire game, something ridiculous. the only album i think that can come close to that is that new trentemoller, and even that fell short of the mark (imo). Maybe i missed something, and if i did i need to know what it is! :D

Re: wheres that electronic music album that will blow my mind?

if it doesnt have to be dance per say, but simply electronic.

try anything by susumu yokota. he has some brilliant work, mostly ambient. new one from laste last year was....wonder waltz, but my favorite album was sakura, followed by the distant sound of summer.

trust me, its eye opening music, perfect for a rainy day. soundtrack for blissfull peace.

wonderful artist.

Digweed Renaissance... Orbital? lol...uh...miss this part?
where is that RECENT electronic music album thats gonna blow me away?
Anonin, dunno if this is your bag, but i've been loving the new Frivilous album. Midnight Black Indulgence. Little bit of tech, little bit of jazz, little bit of house, little bit of weirdness. It's not a mixed album tho.

You guys will love Tiesto's Break My Fall with vocals by Mr. Transeau.

Re: wheres that electronic music album that will blow my mind?

Hybrid's last 2 albums do it for me - very cinematic ; "Morning Sci-Fi" is a thing of brilliance. Despite some of the [ms] crews animosity towards BT (I assume that a lot of people out there must hate Sasha's GU releases and prefer his latest non-BT friendly sound), This Binary Universe is well worth a listen - as BT is STILL very talented and at the fore-front of electronic music as an Artist (but maybe not as a DJ). Also Mark Isham does movie soundtracks - his score to the film "Crash" was awesome.

Re: wheres that electronic music album that will blow my mind?

The Knife- Silent Shout

Not quite mind-blowing, but intensely dark and bloody good.

If you want to get mindflayed, Shpongle is the way to go! Also if you like this (and you will), check out Ott. All the shpongle-albums are brilliantly produced. -Pure genius! -Anyone not familiar with Shpongle yet has something awesome to look forward to! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1jPeG1LlaQ

Also try Otts' rework of hallucinogen. Hallucinogen:In Dub (CD) http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/twi/twi1cd016.html

To emphasize, here's a quote from one of Shpongles' tracks:

" My head feels like a frisbee; twice its normal size. Feels like a football and someone's moved the goal posts. Everything is slightly out of joint and weird; disconnected. I had to hold onto the walls.

And we noticed that women, especially the hippy ladies, started reacting differently. With your permission their nipples get hard; they start dancing in a whole other kind of way. Catching butterflies in the air. People get goosepimples. They laugh, they cry at the same time. They get horny and holy at the same time- you see them.

This one brought me down to my knees. I had to hold onto the wall. My knees shaking, quivering. My head feels like a frisbee."

Re: wheres that electronic music album that will blow my mind?

BT.............please. That's like relying on fucking Border's to define for you what the good shit is. Don't be satisfied with that.

If you dig a bit deeper, there is such so much great stuff out there that that will make you see things differently. And from many of the other recommendations in this thread, I'm happy to see that others know this to be true.

Here are three relatively recent ones that did it for me.
