Re: Pilsner Urquell
Urquell is delicious, but Spaten is king.
Re: Pilsner Urquell
Grolsh ok, but better than Stella? Naaaaaah... The Czech might've invented pils, but we've perfectioned it. Urquell isn't bad, but still...
Re: Pilsner Urquell
perfectioned....new word. Cool. ;)
Re: Pilsner Urquell
My favorite too (for pils that is). I drank so much of that when I lived in Prague- def. more than water. Shit back then, it was only 15 krowns a half-liter- more or less 50 cents.
Re: Pilsner Urquell
good shit
Stella= most overrated beer ever! Yup, I said it.
Re: Pilsner Urquell
spaten and stella are both better. urquell is decent. most oregon microbrews rule over any of them.

Re: Pilsner Urquell
now i'm thirsty for friday beer!
Re: Pilsner Urquell
Stella sucks ass...wife beater's beer! pilsner is very good...not as good as Jelen...lol.
I find that out of the mainstream i.e. more readily available beers in England Kronenburg is the best...
Re: Pilsner Urquell
urquel is brilliant, as is stella. Can we just crack one open now? :Alchy
Re: Pilsner Urquell
Best. Beer. Ever.

Urquell is good too.
I tried a Polish beer called Tynski that was damn good.
Stella= most overrated beer ever! Yup, I said it.
I was about to flame your pants off for that remark, but I guess the point is valid when you live in the States. It's very weird to see that the beer we just drink every day is marketed like some hip & trendy beverage in the US. Bollox imo: Stella is the best pils around (together with Jupiler), but it's nothing more than just a pils. When you want something special, drink Leffe, Duvel, Chimay, Kwak, Trapist, whatever...
How much do you guys have to pay for a bottle of Stella overthere?
Stella sucks ass...wife beater's beer!
I burp in your direction sir.
I find that out of the mainstream i.e. more readily available beers in England Kronenburg is the best...
Kronenburg? Uhmz... I only drink that French foam lemonade when I'm in France. Good stuff to down in one on a blistering hot summer afternoon, but a bit light in alcohol percentage as well as flavor.
Then again, compared to what most English pubs have on draught (read: tepid foamless horse piss), I agree with you ;)
Re: Pilsner Urquell
^^i dont think six packs are too expensive, actually they might cost as much as a 6 pack of newcastle ~$8 where i live
Re: Pilsner Urquell
btw the domestic beer in the us SUCKS. i hate having to spend like 20$ on good beer and only get 8 of em or so.

You said that right. I hate american beer. The beer I drink is imports and micro brews which I guess is american but its not butt whiper or Miller. My favorite beers are Guiness, Stella, Newcastle and Chimay. Pilsner Urquell is good but not something I drink all the time.
Re: Pilsner Urquell
all you stella haters are crazy. such great beer.
I've recently tried a fantastic belgian beer called De Koninck. Definitely worth the purchase if you can find it in your area...

Well you're probably right, I bet it's totally different in its homeland. The other thing is that I don't think it's bad at all, it's just the way certain people RAVE about it, it causes a certain degree of backlash for me.
All that said, I'm an ale man. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, all day long, that's my shit.
Re: Pilsner Urquell

Re: Pilsner Urquell
Gambrinus = best czech beer Pilsner Urquell = 2nd
Pils still one of my all time favs tho.
Re: Pilsner Urquell
I'm about ready to brew some of my own Kolsch as well. Urquell tastes a lot better when not imported.
