so a week on monday i,ll have just about enough money to buy a new vsti and from previous experiences with native instruments synths i,m heavily thinking that i,m going to be buying one of these ( or if anyone else has any better sudjestions i,ll gladly listen) , i have 2 choices, absynth or fm8, so currently i,m downloading a demo of both to see what is the best for me, just wanted to know if any of u guys have any input on it? :D

Re: i'm in 2 minds
Hi red! Absynth and FM8 are two really different synthesizers. To advise you correctly, I would like to know which style of music do you produce and which specific sounds you are looking for.
For example, in electro music, FM synthesis is used much and FM8 is a great FM synthesizer. Don't forget to look for the famous Sytrus from Image Line too. The rich implementation characteristics of theses FM synthesizers allow for an extremely wide range of sounds, including bass lines, bells, pads, drums, pianos, strings, organs and even entire drum and synth loops (in a single patch/note).
Absynth is a semi-modular synthesizer which excels to create spacious moving pads and soundscapes. You can take any sample and make really complex evolving sounds. You can use any sound as an oscillator. His granular/sampling feature is powerfull!
Hope that will help you! Billy T. Kanova
Re: i'm in 2 minds
Massive is a pretty sweet baby too. But it's more geared for electro, or minimal, progressive, or ambient music...as it has some fantastic pads.
Re: i'm in 2 minds
i dont beleive that a vst is geared towards a perticular sort of music imho if the sound fits the track and i like it i use it my 2 cents
Re: i'm in 2 minds
I have both. I love them both. I use absynth a bit more when making minimal type stuff and fm8 when making tech house. Both are very good though. Buy both of them.
Re: i'm in 2 minds
I've been using ImpOSCar for a while now ... once you get to grips with it you can really make some awesome bass/pad sounds! Well worth checking out!
Re: i'm in 2 minds
between the two... i would go w/ the FM8 m2c
Re: i'm in 2 minds
buy fm8, much more complex structure

yessssss!!!!! nothing compares to real oscilators, and filters. Here in Argentina we pay very expensive those real synths, but in e-bay... I just can?t believe the prizes!
