lorn - yea i hear you, but the more people talk about it, the more people will learn about it and the more we can do to prevent such cicumstances. i think having the christians and religious people going crazy about it just shows thier fear and thier lack of understanding of reality. this is in no way saying.. 'hey people !!! go rape kids'... but its definately a story about something that happens whether people want to believe it or not. i just think education and bringing things out to the public to get them talking is a great way of changing minds.

Since the question of how society is taught about these horrible and abrasive things, lets us take it to our advantage. We could take these horrible people, who commit sexual crimes and publically stone or tourture them publically. We could broadcast it on every television station and every other type of media outlet IN THE WORLD in hopes that the image of these people being proper fucked will be burnt into the minds of any sick bastards out there who are up to no good. It all depends on how they did it and what their intentions were. There are tactful ways of displaying disturbing subjects. If the motivation behind doing so is one of genuine altriusm, concern, or something along those lines...that shows. If the motivation behind doing so is one of shock value, self-promotion, or other less elegant human characteristics...that shows, too.

read what the director says about imo. then you'd know. it doesn't even show a child being raped. it infers that the child is being rapped. the director didn't want to cut this part because the story relies on it but its not at all what this film is about.
