Just curious, but has a statement been released on wether or not the place will reopen? Ive read that it, with others, was shut down on the 5th for letting in and selling alcohol to underage kids. I also know that Porter is slated to play tomorrow night. Whats going on?

hey, stupid clubs get whats coming. it isnt hard to keep kids out, they just choose not to, becuase young rich kids from where i live go in there and drop 2000 on a table and bottle service.

and they ALWAYS have undercover at the bigger NYC clubs. you dont see it, but crobar, pasha, shelter, etc etc always have about 3-5 undercover cops raoming around.

it'll reopen..crobar was the only place too not get raided a few months back when sasha & digweed came to town.

A bit off topic here but is anyone from NYC planning on going to Shelter on the 27th to see Chloe Harris, D-Fuse, etc? Going out there w/ my gf and her brothers and this place is about 5 blocks from the hotel. Just curious.

nah, it wasnt you. the guy was older, late 30's i would guess, and his girlfriend and him kept knocking into me repeatedly, and i warned them like 5 times to chill out, and kept getting the nod, so once i got in his face about it, he gave me a look that had me flip out, and 5 minutes later, i was cabbing it home.

i still got an email about porters party tonight. i would think if the place was closed they wouldnt have sent that out this morning.

So what is Shelter like? How is the crowd? Can't wait to hear Chloe live again, saw her open for Digweed at Crobar in Chicago this summer but it was quite a short set. I'll be there with a few folks who aren't really heads but have an open mind nonetheless, should be a top night. Thanks for the info.

^the only time I went to Shelter the crowd and atmosphere were pretty top-notch...granted I'd been there for Lee Burridge and Bill Patrick B2B holloween party. The regular shelter crowd starts filtering in through the night and at 5 they start the regular shelter party upstairs while the previous party took over the downstairs. The space isn't bad, albeit a bit tight in places.

Just got an e-flyer for the PVD night on Feb. 16th. Flyer states that the event in now 21+ to enter. Change in policy?

I went for Stadenco/Porter on friday night so they are open yes, and it was 21+.
