Armand Van Helden for my b-day? I have no idea what his sets are like or what he's up to. Any info would be good. It's either him or local talent which I know spin great music in one of my fav clubs.

^^^yes, agree....dont rely on others opinions of dj's....just do your thing, go, and if you dont like it.....leave :)

Besides, going only to see a dj is lame....go and have a good time with your friends :)

^^guys, i didnt mean to say that going is lame.....what is lame, however, is going to stand there and watch and stare at a dj all night is lame....so, who cares if a dj sucks, so long as your friends are with you and having a good time....shit, i find fun going to a show with a shitty dj playing, because it helps you to appreciate the better ones....but anyways, will your night really be ruined if you dont hear what you are looking for from a dj?? probably not...just have fun :)

If Helden played music that sounds liek his productions then he would be in the top 20 DJ's IMO

When I was in Ohrid with Erzina past summer, I partied like it was 1999 in a club even though they were playing local (Serbian, Macedonian, Albanian) hiphop all night long. But on the other hand, a sucky DJ can ruin your night in a jiffy imo.

Take David Guetta for instance: his constantly grabbing back to the obvious floor fillers and his own hit tunes irritates the piss outa me even though I like the records he spins.

Same thing goes for Martin Solveig. The guy has some wicked productions, but when I heard him at a party... Well, let's say I felt slapping the bitch :what

I guess it al comes down to how much the music influences your mood and what your expectations are.
