Went to see him last night in Tripod, Dublin, first time seeing him, didnt really know what to expect, been listenin to that Zuhouse mix of his a lot recently so expected somethin along those lines... First time back in this club (used to be the redbox) new layout and stuff, way overcrowed tho Started at 12.30am or so kicked off with some mellow stuff, then about half an hour or so in it started to lift off, no structure to the set really, he was playing all sorts, recognised a few tunes..remember, tranzperenza, that kid creme one, some say hello mix, mouth to mouth (which he looped for ages, very annoying!!) Id say for about 45 mins he was outstanding, played some really really fantastic tunes, then the rest was just boring, and the sound wasnt what it was in the redbox, didint seem like the old Funktion 1 anyways, the whole midbass seemed to go for about 20 mins, plus there was a sound drop out in the middle of the set for about 10 secs, but he got the crowd going again..

so...i dunno, but of a let down being a fan and all, dont think id bother going to see him again, it was like he was firing tunes in from all angles with his edits and stuff

as i said he played some unreal stuff, i looked up the zuhouse tracklist and found a track down as Juergens - Love It, my god  tune of the night by far, if u get to hear this on a big rig, unreal bassline, happy faces all round...........

Re: Sasha last night

maybe sasha is a racist and doesnt like irish people

Re: Sasha last night

I was at the Redbox, really good night, Sasha was rocking, I thought he built it well, first few tracks were so bad ass bass, and the sound imo was good, beside the speakers was the place to be

yeah it was packed but what do u expect, its sasha. lot of n.irish there, obviously a big sasha fan base up there.

Tripod is nice, the sound booth and the stage compliment each other, better than the old booth which looked to far from the crowd. only problem was paying €28 in for 5 hours ridiculous.

I thought Spooky were on the ball, played some big'uns but they played a blinder, charlie may was a little worse for wear...

all in all it was great to see the box open again and is my favourite club for the history and djs they get.

top night

Re: Sasha last night

He destroyed the car park gig last night. Not a hint of the crap electro and "party tunes" from his recent mixes. Got on with it and was really deep, dark and twisted. I for one was happily proved I was wrong on him.... at least for another week.

Re: Sasha last night

Glad u guys who were there had a good night, that sound system still needs a lot of tweaking IMHO to get it sounding like it used to, hope its sorted for digweed!!!! oh yeah, i did like those new screens, really cool

#773696Post 10 of 43

Re: Sasha last night

Would agree with Simon, last night the last 3 hours could have given Digweed Peaktime a run for his money. Saying that theres just something a little special with Sasha peaktime.

Re: Sasha last night

That's exactly how I felt after his gig in Manchester... But it seems some people just love that kind of sets... :NotMe: Not my cup of tea though

Re: Sasha last night

Sound system was so wicked last night, great place, fuck clubs its all about car parks from now on, back to the old skool.

Tune of the night, Eric Prydz - Remember. Stayed at the front all night, Sasha was loving it, jumping around in the booth all night, which was nice

Re: Sasha last night

you'd think for a dj...you'd always wanna try to bang it out as much as you could, that way the crowd would really want you to come back soon.

Re: Sasha last night

Saw him in Manchester last week, and wasn't that impressed with the music he's playing. Started and ended very well, but the middle was completely unmemorable. I find that his digital sound lacks punch or depth (and some vocal tracks would have been nice).now this may be partly down to the sound system, but the same sound system captured Xpander perfectly well enough at the end.Not a patch on his Renaissance appearance back in July when he played a classic 1st two hours with all the quality stuff from his Avalon set.Tthere were few tracks that made you want to go out and grab them the next day.Personally I think Sasha needs 6-months off working on productions, revitalising and re-assessing what he plays. Having listened to Northern Exposure 1 & 2 (plusJJJ), Involver, Arkham Asylum/Xpander EP's and his Icon/Beirut/Okyo sets over the past few days the latest stuff just doesn't cut it for me.Given his awesome talent and ear for amazing music this is a big shame. While he still gets my support I'm hoping 2007 sees him back to his best.

Re: Sasha last night

Don't give up after just one night, especially if you are a fan.

Re: Sasha last night

The car park gig was ace. Glued to the dancefloor for 6 hours - Scarlet Etienne did a great job on warmup duties too. Just a shame it finished at 4am - an extra couple of hours would have been great. The couple of real old school tracks in the middle were great to hear as well.

Last times i saw Sasha was at Glade '05 and SW4 '05 and he was very disappointing. Nice to hear a proper club set, which had the whole venue loving it... so many smiles (although probably not as many as "back in the day")

Re: Sasha last night

the thom yorke - eraser track he has been droppin at the end of his sets the past 2 weeks imo its HIS remix

have not heard anything that good in a loooooooooong time

#774961Post 23 of 43

Re: Sasha last night

He dropped that track at Manchester Warehouse, it blew me away and totally floored me - easily the highlight of the night.

I just wish he played more stuff like that !

Re: Sasha last night

I thought the venue was brilliant, I'd much rather be in a car park (!) than rammed into Fabric. Easy to get a drink (even though they were ?4), easy to get to the toilet and no stupid queue for the cloakroom ? I'd be there every week if I could.

And it was a stunning set, he picked up the tempo and just kept it there... for hours. Hardly recognised any tracks except a few classics ? Reese & Antonio and Todd Terry (?) ? but I did find myself grinning inanely. And Scarlett Etienne was brilliant too. Xmas came early.

It isnt a mix or edit by him, nor is it the Satoshi Tomiie Mix.

Sasha pisses over Digweed peaktime or not. He was excellent last weekend in London, but then he always is :)

The same was said about Digweed too. However, I have heard from many credible sources that he won't play Fabric again. As for Sasha pissing over Digweed. Leave it out. Over the last 4 years I have heard about 3 good sets from Sasha... one of those being the gig the other week. Best night I have ever been to was Digweed at Fabric in Summer 2004 and no Sasha set I've been to has ever come close to that. His one at Fabric in Feb 2005 pissed all over anything Sasha has done as well.

Hourses for courses and all that.

its not a rumour its absolutely true. Digweed is the best progressive house dj in the world imo - from about 4am onwards in room 1 at Fabric it just gets silly how good he is.

#778912Post 34 of 43

Re: Sasha last night

Digweed doesn't even compare to Sasha.

for me - it doesnt get much better than Digweed in room one, especially after around 4am or so
