Re: house track ... 2 baselines.... which is better?

I liked the first one better. In my opinion both basses are too loud and they distort a little bit the sound. I would suggest dropping a bit the bass channel volume while rendering the track. A part from that it's a catchy beat. :D

Shawn, go get yourself a book called "Remixers Bible" it'll give you so many tips and tricks to create better basslines and better tracks that you though you'd be able to do. It's really helped me out. It has all kinds of advice from BT, Superchumbo, AVH, Chemical Bros and more.

thanks for the advice jeff, ordered my copy... i need some reading for my upcoming trip to germany (4 weeks with no logic and a lot of time on my hands... times i wish i had a laptop) so i will spend some time with this book... i have had no formal training or anyone teaching me a thing, so my work can sometimes sound like shit. i rely on opinions from forums a good bit. hopefully the book will help :)

thanks minimal, maybe i over compressed the bass a wee bit

appreciate the feedback guys :D

Like the track man! Good Rhythm, well "organized"... But i think it deserves a nice Fat,Strong Bass!... A strong Bassline, without many ups and downs....

the first version sounds best ... the bass sounds somewhat 'muddy' to me though!
