I literally just walked in the door from Digweed @ Sound-Bar and I can't sleep so I thought I'd let you all know how it went. --The night started off with a few opening dj's. James Lauer's set absolutely rocked. Great mixing, great energy--very impressive, a guy you should definitely keep an eye on. James was followed by Desyn Masiello. Desyn also impressed me. His mixing was top-notch, and I felt he really worked the crowd quite well, blowing it up rediculously hard (the hardest drop all night) and coming right back down with very smooth mixing; he set the night off right. Then, the man himself. Master Digweed. John started the night in typical Digweed fashion, deep, dark mixing, with enourmous basslines that dropped one after the other. Another flawless set for John that made it worth my 5 hour drive to come here. To all those going to Crobar, NYC tomorrow, no worries. You should all be in for a great night. ---By the way, I will post pics from the show sometime this weekend for all those who are interested!! :Bingo:

another satisfied customer of the digweed experience.
glad you had a blast.
btw, this may be a long shot, but do you remember if he playing "new kicks" or "untitled/filth/page lake"or "maria rosa" or "loaded"?
Re:: DIGWEED @ SOUND-BAR, CHICAGO --->Top Notch Set!!
P.S.-------------Jimmy Van M sighting at Sound-bar, Chicago------just hanging out in the booth with Digweed, Desyn, and the rest of PURE. I didn't think it was him, but he responded to 'Jimmy Van M' when I addressed him. Very random.
Re:: DIGWEED @ SOUND-BAR, CHICAGO --->Top Notch Set!!
TO: THE SUN AND THE SEA I know for a fact he never played filth, I also didn't hear Lonestar-New Kicks----the other 2, I'm not familiar with--maybe you could point me in their direction and I would let you know. It should however be noted that I was downstairs for 2 or 3 tracks, so he could have played them, but not likely.
Re:: DIGWEED @ SOUND-BAR, CHICAGO --->Top Notch Set!!
TO: THE SUN AND THE SEA I figured out what tracks you are talking about (from the hotmix and beirut), and no he did not play any of them barring the 2 or 3 records I was out of the room. :Bingo:

i wonder what are some of his "peak time" & "banging" tracks he's playing now?
did anyone step into the round room for Brian Ffar?
Re:: DIGWEED @ SOUND-BAR, CHICAGO --->Top Notch Set!!
Great evening. John once again showed us why he is John (broken record). The guy is phenom all the time. Deep, dark and has some really great builds that went into deafening silence and then back to the basslines. Keep me on my toes all night.
Once a year for Diggers just isn't enough. That man is the face of EDM.
period.
Excellent... this is the motivation I needed to make the trek out tonight!!
Re:: DIGWEED @ SOUND-BAR, CHICAGO --->Top Notch Set!!
Lovely, juuust lovely! I've had my tickets sitting on my record shelf for quite some time now.
The date is approaching, the night is at it's doorsteps... the sound of Digweed is calling!
The Mayan, Sept 1 Wednesday... Cannot wait!
sounds like a wicked night. cant wait for the pope to visit us again.
Re:: DIGWEED @ SOUND-BAR, CHICAGO --->Top Notch Set!!
5 days left!
Re:: DIGWEED @ SOUND-BAR, CHICAGO --->Top Notch Set!!
All this talk about Digweed is building up my anticipation. Only one more week till he's here in San Francisco!!!
No words can describe the EVIL he brought to Chicago last night. I just woke up and still feel a little twisted. It was a good night. Thursday night crowd who were there only for the music, lots of room to dance, and a thick coat of sweat to match the sweaty beats of Diggers. I didn't recognize any tracks, but there's one that was definately noteable (well, more than one, more like ONE HUNDRED) that was near the last 1/3 of the set where there was this evil pulsating and vibrating sound brewing down under the floor that built up for a long while and scared the shit out of me. Once it broke I've never seen so many people joyfully accept being prosecuted in hell. It was an evil evil song. Digweed is the master of disaster!!!! Have fun all you people going to see him in the next few weeks. But be prepared to bleed.
I take that back, I did recognize one track. It was some wicked remix of Open Day. Blew-me-away-rediculous.
Re:: DIGWEED @ SOUND-BAR, CHICAGO --->Top Notch Set!!
great reviews...
I bought my ticket today...Only a 4 hour drive for me, but from the sounds of it sounds like it is worth every minute....I cant wait.

Yo!! Finally made a post.
hell yeah birney sounds like a good time and wish like hell I was in new york with blitz to catch him tonight. get those pics up I wanna see that shit.
t-minus 5 hours and counting
its gonna be intersting seeing diggers in miami, if nobody's reconizing any tracks love hearing new music
Great times! Last night was pretty good. He threw down some good tracks for sure. Those first two tracks were just great, the second one had that wickedly deep rolling bassline.
In addition to philth he also played the King Unique remix of 'Ride' too I guess. Thats what someone thinks the remix of it was.

coolest fucking description i've seen to date. although it should be persecuted, no?
along those same lines, there was one tune that had an "ooooooo" vocally sound underneath it that took me about 5 minutes to figure out whether it was actually the track or my mind fucking with me. turns out it was the track indeed. if anyone could id it, that'd be fantastic.
songs i recognized:
unknown mix of BPT - Moody unknown mix of Chable & Bonnici - Ride (guess King Unique? I dunno) 3rd track from desyn's feb 04 aria mix, housey number, still trying to id.
Re:: DIGWEED @ SOUND-BAR, CHICAGO --->Top Notch Set!!
Great pictures!!!John is a first dj for me!!!!! :WinkNSmi: :LoveYou:
Re:: DIGWEED @ SOUND-BAR, CHICAGO --->Top Notch Set!!
first??! number one for Me. :Bingo:
Re:: DIGWEED @ SOUND-BAR, CHICAGO --->Top Notch Set!!
wow, i'm surprised you guys didn't hear him wreck a mix a few tracks into his set... that surprised me. also, he almost let a track run out and he ran off stage three times near the end of his set... somethin' was up... i've seen digweed, numerous times and i'd have to say this was by far the worst set i ever heard him play. i was let down, to say the least. while all the tracks were bangin', it seemed to get old after a while and he never really got into his deep dark shit, it was just was just relentless hard pounding prog - which is tight, but not what i had hoped for. the best set i ever heard him play was when he was in chicago last year and played at the congress theater... now that shit was sick!! all of you that were there know what i'm talking about!! ;) all in all, i had a blast and definitely heard some great tunes.. can't wait 'till he comes back!!!
Re:: DIGWEED @ SOUND-BAR, CHICAGO --->Top Notch Set!!
dude, give him some slack... every dj wreck a mix from time to time!

i feel ya... just everything overall that i mentioned above, disappointed me...
also, all the times i've seen digweed combined with all the live sets i've heard, i've never heard him wreck... maybe slip up a 'lil, but never just straight BOTCH a mix... that was odd... it's all good... he's still the fuckin' sheeeeeit! ;)
Re:: DIGWEED @ SOUND-BAR, CHICAGO --->Top Notch Set!!
i took some vids from the night as well
the last track he played had the vocals 'you are all my children now' said in a demonic voice and it kinda sounded like that new order track that was used for that song from blade..dont know the name offhand
but check em out
