Re: have any of you ever found yourself in this situation?
thank you... half you guys would never make it where i live... drug dealers kill drug dealers or fuckwits that rip them off... they could give a flying fuck about you. seriously, in my hood (and it IS the hood, probably 80% black) the worse thing you can do is steal... you won't last long... Literally. Both my Audi and Explorer have never been broken into, I've never been threatened or felt threatened and people look out for one another. Sure I have to deal with twats who buy drugs all day and night but the dealers know not to stand in front of the properties we or our friends own... In turn I don't give a shit what they do anywhere else and they look out for our us and our friends stuff... kinda of a repectful truce. Unless you've lived in the inner city it's hard to explain. Actually, I'd rather live in a black neighborhood over a poor white trash inner city neighborhood any fucking day of the week... Why? because those are the fuckwits who steal anything and everything and then come to my section to buy the drugs...
so since you live on the same street as the dealers, do they give a discount on some grade A drugs? :p

Re: have any of you ever found yourself in this situation?

I was walking home by myself at about 4:30 in the morning along a main street and 3 very built white men were walking toward me so I crossed the street. That didn't help. "Hey baby....come over here...come hang out with us." Me, I try to ignore them. Them "That's right bitch, you can't handle three men can you, f*'n bitch!" while crossing the street towards me. Me....hop in a cab and get the fuck outta there! Assholes!

Re: have any of you ever found yourself in this situation?

someone should do the opposite. next time they see a black group on the other side of the street, cross the street to the side they're on. Then walk right through them, making them get out the way of you. See if you make it.
In your case I'd do the same Etincelles....But I'll go with Sean to the Bronx and Brooklyn without blinking my eyes. Drunken Brits and Irishmen are much worse than Hoodlums...they really commit random violence when they're in a bad mood.
Not sure if I would agree with that one personally. How is one better or worse than the other..?

Re: have any of you ever found yourself in this situation?

it is....i'd rather walk through a bunch of sober thugs than drunken fuckers...the last ones don't even think but randomly do shit...although it doesn't really boil down to Irish or Brits alone ;).

A friend f my brother was walking past a bar a while ago with his friend, and for some unknown reason a drunken guy (who was gigantic in size according to statements) runs out and kicks the friend in the back. Friend goes face down on the street, and while he tries to regain his senses and get up, the attacker runs up to him again and kicks him straight in the face. His whole face had to be reconstructed, and as far as I know he's not fully recovered till this day. That is drunken random violence, and it's the scariest of all IMO....getting your life destroyed in the blink of an eye for....what? Alcohol?

Re: have any of you ever found yourself in this situation?

i dont give respect to the young black male in my neiborhood because they dont repect anything. Sure there are reasons for their anger such as them being without jobs, with out a proper upbringing and whatever, but if you need to act tough, show me your gawdy jewlrey in your mouth, kick my bike as i ride by in frount you you buddies, litter everywhere, im not gonna trust you im sorry.... yea i might be stereotyping but where i live, 90% of young black males act like this. if you act tough and walk like your a thug, your a deutchbag imo no mater what your race is.

Can't honestly say that, in 34 years, I've never done that, but it's been when someone looked like a thug. I can tell you that I don't do it now, though, regardless. In my neighborhood, if I had to cross the street every time I saw a black guy, I might as well just walk down the middle of the street. Most of my neighbors are black, and I really like the people in my neighborhood; with that in mind, in addition to being unnecessary, walking across the street every time I see a black person would send the message to my neighbors that I don't trust them and/or am afraid of them, which is not the message I want to send. I wave and say hello instead.

Occasionally, I'll see someone who looks thug-like in the area. Same rule applies, though -- I have learned through experience that it's probably just someone who's younger, harmless, and just following the trends. Bad shit can happen anywhere, though, so in the event I'm wrong and the guy is thinking about starting some shit, at least I'm sending the message, "I see you, and I'm paying attention."

Ironic thing is that I'm usually walking the dog when I'm out and about and people will frequently walk across the street to get away from me and my 18 pound Boston Terrier. Pretty funny.

I live in the burbs...but if I am downtown, I'm usually not even thinking about "what might happen if." One time this "person" threw a coke at me, spraying all over my car, I still don't know what I did to upset him?

.... yep, the same thing happens to me and i have two corgi's, which are herding dogs... and welsh. the only thing they strike fear in is a sandwich but the brothers totally steer clear of them yet one or two of my 'neighbors' have pitbull puppies... here's what i've learned living where i live: the bro's in my hood hate: cold weather, water and dogs. Just for fun I'll wash the car in the street with a hose while holding the dogs sometimes....

Re: have any of you ever fondled yourself in this situation?

I think it's been said before, but if you radiate fear or provacation, you're bound to get gang banged. I don't live in a "hood" nor a large city, but there are a lot of Moroccans here. Wannabe gangstaz so to say and a lot of them are frustrated as hell, so they act hard as nails and sometimes try to intimidate you when they're in group. I just walk down the street minding my own business, nod my head once a while and that usually keeps me out of trouble. But I guess the main reason these tossers don't bug me is because I've put two of them in the ER last year. I'm a nice guy, but don't get too smart with me and above all keep your paws off me.
