I know there are sooo many great GU albums, but I'm curious about people's favourites! For me it has to be Nick Warren Budapest ..... back in the day when Prog was deep and gnarly .... or maybe Hong Kong ... nice!! Or San Fransisco .... ach I dunno. I'm drawn back to Budapest again! Dammit! :p

Oh man, so many to choose from. I am probably alone when I say this but Darren Emerson "Singapore" is my all time fav. Then probably the latest Danny Howells. My least favorite being the Deep Dish, I would rather watch fresh dog crap harden in the sun.

IMO GU13 (sasha Ibiza) without doubt has the best collection of music in the GU series. Cass & Slide Perception :twisted: :twisted:

My all time favorite would have to be GU014 (Digweed). My others favs include GU009 (Sasha), GU012 (Dave Seaman), GU013 (Sasha), GU019 (Digweed).

Although I haven't been following the latest GU releases, [B]Sasha @ Frisco[/B] and of course [B]GU019 @ LA[/B] are very very special for me.

Other than that I still listen to good old Oakie at New york (GU007 I think) 8)

By far and away my favourite is San Francisco. Seamless, liquid programming and mixing.

Honourable mentions go to Shanghai (best one for 4 years), Hong Kong, Cape Town, New York, Sydney, Ibiza

I think Nick Warren 24 is one of the best albums ever has a nice flow all the way through. Starts slow and if yo listen to both cd's in a row they make sense. Its the one thats always near in case I need to recharge. I also like Sasha San Francisco. Deep Dish Moscow is worth a listen, Toronto is not so good. Its easier to pick the ones that i don't like rather that picking the best....so the real question should be the worst GU>>>?<<<

I thought Disk 1 of the Barcelona GU was pretty good - but the rest were shit, I'm with you on that. Seamen's Melbourne was the worst GU IMO. Disk one is just complete noise, disk 2 is the definition of bspf - long drawn out intros/outros, extended breakdowns every other track, build-ups to nowhere. Just a total waste.

[b]NYC[/b] - mostly for nostalgic reasons, some classics on this one [b]Hong Kong[/b] - Totally captured the late 90's progressive trance sound [b]Ibiza [/b]- See above [b]Reykjavik [/b]- Perfect for the ride to the club (disk 1) and the ride home (disk 2) [b]Shanghai[/b] - Great mix for long drives to nowhere [b]Moscow [/b]- 90% flawless. It builds and builds right up until Bird of Prey, then it just comes to a screeching halt. Damn good otherwise.

#1 GU of all time: [b]LA[/b] - Not only the best GU, but best mix album period. Like Dark Side of the Moon or OK Computer, this is a musical masterpiece that requires long repeated listenings with high quality headphones to really appreciate it. I'll be playing this one until I'm old and grey and it should be preserved so that future generations can experience it.

The first GU I listened to was Ibiza and is a classic but as far as they go Athens was incredibly deep and sexxxy. Frank Sinatra by Miss Kitten hot.
