i agree with that. i am having a little fun. not over board. i am not killing anyone.i am reporting the facts that go along with this "TRANCE" music. Frankly, I do not support youth getting way fucked up drugs. only for them to learn in 10 years they will have mind rot. if that is not the truth ... what is?
Remainder of the list: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/s...1&pagenumber=1

I wonder if this will be the actual top 10 outcome....hoping not. I am a big Armin fan (yes a shock I know), but I don't feel he is deserving of a #1 spot this yr. In past yrs yes, but not this one. I personally think Andy Moor is most deserving out of all the performances I saw this yr, but we all know he isn't going to jump up 50ish spots and take #1

I really want the top 25 to change drastically but I have no idea when that will actually happen
i think you have a valid point. i think it will be the same or close in the dj mag. no surprise here.
wow. that's a board filled with people who like bad music.
Member there since 2001 and still posting from time to time..you guys just have no clue what you talk about just because you close your eyes for everything as soon as the word Trance is in the Game. Many of the DJs you pretend to love and respect are registered there and surprise surprise, it's not all about Trance Music there. Another breaking news: some of the sets we have offered here for downloading would have never come my way without contacts to members/DJs on Tranceaddict. Gosh.

You all sound like parents when they talk about things they have not the slightest clue about but have a strict opinion about it. Yaaaawn. Do you really think people who go to Trance events all look like these hardliner candy ravers? Why should Karen confess, explain why it is like it is etc.? You have no clue how it is (I don't as well because I am no longer into Trance but at least I shut up if somebody talks about something he likes out of respect). I know this is all in good fun and you try to pick on Karen but you guys are annoying as fuck and repeat the things you say like parrots.

Yeah, obviuosly- otherwise Sasha & Digweed would not be stuck in the top ten with those other twats. They stick out like a sore thumb in that list.

I have no problem listening to techno, blues, jazz, trance, metal, rock, classical, house, hip-hop etc etc- wheres the fun in only liking one kind of music??

well said, and exactly why i posted early trying to stave off the sharks... god knows if it wasn't for tracks like "for an angel", "invisible" and "beachball" i certainly wouldn't be doing what i'm doing now... a good track is a good track no matter what genre it's pigeonholed into...

Re: TA released there DJ Top 250 Results

It must be different here, Candy ravers go to hard banging type trance not Armin - Tiesto type trance I must admit there are a few trance djs there I quite like!

Here's another poll result No digweed!! I have to admit I voted in all of them:D

Re: TA released there DJ Top 250 Results

you "guys" can defend trance all you want. frankly i am not into, and never will be, and that is my choice. i just do not support high drug use with this music. of course you are correct stating that not everyone does look like a raver, but you are also wrong in omitting being a candy raver go hand and hand with trance. so pick your devil.

yes, i have listened to trance. yes i have watched paul oakenfold. yes it killed it for me, all I gotta say is Area 51.

i will never forget how many young kinds were on 7 hits of acids and 3 e-bombs. when you are 14 ... you are fucking yourself over.

go have fun at your parties. but do not attack me because i have some moral compass and truly do not partake in "raving" activities.

i enjoyed trance as well. but sometimes you have to make a choice, and my choice was that i will support those actions nor fund them.

thank you.

Are you kidding me??

I wasn't even going to post in this thread again until I saw your ridiculous comments. Do you honestly have any idea what you are talking about.....where are you getting your facts, or is this rumors or stereotypes? I know WAY more people who listen to house/progressive that pop E or snort coke, then with trance. But that is besides the point, it isn't the music, it is the party culture here in NA. If you venture outside of the US to the UK, Netherlands, Australia, drug use is pretty minimal in the clubs. All of my friends that come here to party in the clubs in NA are absolutely astounded at the drug use and sketchy factors in our clubs.

You need to research your facts before you spew out accusations of drug use, etc. Narrow minded judgement comments like this are what make people think the trance scene is bad. As for your stupid candy raver comments, they don't come out to people like Armin, etc as someone already mentioned. Most of "those people" are into Psy and hard hard style music.

Trance developed alongside the increasing use of the drug ecstasy in the club scene. Ecstasy invokes a feeling of intense optimism and goodwill, and when taken while listening to loud trance music the feeling can become euphoric and highly energetic. The structure of trance music came to develop, deliberately or not, so that it became ever more effective at provoking these euphoric feelings. The metronomic beat, simple distorted waveforms drenched in large amounts of reverb, and long build-ups with snare rolls leading out of a breakdown all trigger a huge predictable response from ecstacy users. At the end of the 1990s, it is likely that a majority of clubbers in clubs such as Gatecrasher in Sheffield and Passion in Coalville (both in the UK) were using ecstasy. Drug use in the trance scene is rarer today than it was at the turn of the millennium. Ecstasy use has become part of a subculture within the scene rather than one of the major aspects of it, and many trance fans do not regularly use ecstasy or have never tried it.

Re: TA released there DJ Top 250 Results

The people that write these articles probably can't even tell the difference between trance and house....anyways

I am not even arguing with you anymore...you are looking up things on Wikipedia of all places to support your argument....go to a trance event and see for yourself....or stay judgemental on trance because you know you no matter what I say

ps act like a moderator instead of attacking one of your members over and over again everytime they try to discuss anything that differs from your taste in music

#732866Post 68 of 81

Re: TA released there DJ Top 250 Results

ps i am not stating that all people that listen to trance do drugs.

just i find it funny that you are defending trance when most media, artists, listeners, people, will tell you trance and ravers go hand in hand.

i am sorry if offended you in any matter. the verdict is out, and has been for some time. this was not my call, this is what people and abuse can create. it just happened under "trance".

Funniest thing I've seen recently.

Btw, I listened and enjoyed trance music before I got into djs like Sasha and Digweed. Trance in the late 90's was a great time. I remember looking out for the latest hooj release.

Re: TA released there DJ Top 250 Results

it was just another movement to be part of... going to Gatecrasher, Passion and Slinky etc. at the turn of the millennium was a brilliant experience. Sure, the majority of party goers were extremely loved up (as already pointed out via Wikipedia) but that was the scene. Same thing happens with different music every now and then, it becomes popular, then mainstream, then goes back underground... Punk, Psychedelic rock, UK Garage, im looking at you...

I dont condone drug use, but its the indiviual choice. Not my cup of tea i must add.

Obviously a trance board is going to have trance dj at number 1. I just hope that this yrs djmag poll does not have the same results. I guess we will all find out on wednesday when the poll is announced.
