If I had to choose one (which your poll does), I'd take a dog, but truthfully I want both...unfortunately my apartment building doesn't allow pets, so we have fish ;)

Some fifteen years ago, there was some robberies going in our neighbourhood. One day, our dogs wake up and went to the rear door, growling like he has never done before. I freed him. Robberies stopped at that time. That wouldn't heve been the same if we had a cat. Of course, I'm talking about a real dog, the one that is able to catch the steack in your plate on the table with all 4 legs still on the ground. It was a mix of German sheperd and Groenendaal herder.

i hate cats. but damn they're easy to maintain. each morning walkin the dog is a nightmare since im in a hurry he feels the need to inspect every piece of grass in the entire apt complex before he pinches a loaf. drives me nuts, but i love him.
