The successful partnership with Stanton based on the pioneering FinalScratch digital DJ system will mutually expire in 2006, with both companies focusing on their respective product lines from that date on.

Re: FinalScratch dumped

how many updates have they had to that thing over the last two years? I don't think they've kept as up to date on it as rane has one the serato.

oh well just another technology that many people didn't see a point in.

Re: FinalScratch dumped

I think serato users would beg to differ...

And now M-Audio has released Torq, competing directly with SSL.

I have to agree. It seemed more of a novelty than a serious DJing tool right from the get go and Abelton made it fairly redundant (in my mind anyway).

He is using SSL and Ableton now anyway...

I had one of the first versions of Final Scratch - and wouldnt trust it on stage.

The first install of SSL had absolutly no issues.

Re: FinalScratch dumped

About time FS always was the biggest crock of shit. Serato on the other hand.

#741102Post 19 of 21

Re: FinalScratch dumped

FS didn't get serious enough with their software and lost a lot of customers when Serato hit the market...sometimes being the first isn't being the best.

Dave Seaman said it best I think,

"I've never been into that purist ethic either. The Nazis were purists!"

When comenting on the use of computers in the DJ world.
