Re: My New Ride....
Since the car was really for her (I just got a new SUV) she got to choose. I tried, begged, and pleaded for her to go with the 350 RWD but she didn't feel comfortable with that much power so we "settled" :wink2: with the 250. As for options we went with Navi, ventilated (AC & Heat) seats, upgraded stereo, and wood grain trim.
wow nice. what SUV did you get ?

Picked up an '06 Nissan Xterra. I was looking for a used new-style Pathfinder but for the same price I was able to snag a new Xterra. It's actually a decent little workhorse.

Re: My New Ride....

the new Xterras are awesome, nice choice. I actually like them more than the Pathfinders which are a little overdone imo.

And AC seats have to be the best idea ever.

the Benz S's come with massagers too.... over the top imo and absolutely un though of. If you can afford a $90+ thousand dollar car and end up driving for so long that you need a feckin massage, you have your urgencies/priorities out of whack imo

Re: My New Ride....

i drove the 350 while looking. it had effortless fast acceleration. but i couldnt live with the small back seat & a 6 spd only came in the 250. still a very nice aggressive style.

Re: My New Ride....

^^^ agreed, the new IS is gorgeus looking and very well powered, I guess thats why, within a year of releasing the 325 + 330, BMW relaunched the 328 + 335's to compete with the Infiniti's, Acura's, Lexus's to stay on top of the HP game.

Now that 335 is just bloody ridiculous...... twin turbos with 303 ponies.... incredible if u ask me :p

Re: My New Ride....

the torque curve on the 335 is fantastic, full 300lb-ft right off of idle, straight through to redline
The shade is called 'Starfire Pearl'. Absolutely gorgeous color. We had been debating between that and the 'Matador Red' and I'm so thankful that we went with the white. Go Knights! My wife got her Bachelor's and Master's from there and I got my Bachelor's. Getting ready to head to Rollins for my MBA.

Good for you man, my dad was a marketing professor at rollins for a little while. Great school.

do you drive off-road?

Occassionally but I needed it more for work purposes. Driving clients around while still having something to haul things in if I needed to visit a vendor or something.

Re: My New Ride....

are you gonna mod that Lexus any ? I'm already building a list of things to add to the Bimmer.... few of them (in order of priority) are

Chrome tip exhausts Blacked out front grill Xenons w/ matching fogs Trunk Lip Rims (in the distant future) Performance Chip (when the warranty runs out in 5 years)

Though I must admit that even for a vehicle with a mere 215 Horses, that thing is wicked fast (considering my aging TL)

Re: My New Ride....

^ | if you get the performace chip installed by bmw, isnt that ok with the warranty issues?

i know acura will mod your car and keep the warranty running, but not sure about bmw...
are you gonna mod that Lexus any ?
Nah, it's fine the way it is. I'm more into modding our house than our cars. :D We spend such little time in them anyway that it'd be superfluous to spend any more money on them.

Nice...performance chip. Any specs on HP gains?

#716291Post 61 of 67

Re: My New Ride....

not on the 06's, they're very new and no chip mods have been officially introduced but I've heard gains of about 15 HP on untested ones are reported. Hopefully by the time I look into getting a chip, they'll have some wicked ones out introducing over 30 - 45 HP
