You know, this dude is now going to be walking the street again, but we're talking about a dude that confessed to a murder he did not commit to attract attention to himself. That's troubling. I'm not saying that he ought to be thrown in jail, but his self-preservation instinct is clearly a bit off kilter. It strikes me that keeping him under observation for a bit might not be a bad call, if only for his own safety. Is the attention he got enough, or is he going to do something else to insure that he stays in the spotlight?

Actually, I'm sure the media will keep him in the spotlight no problem -- they've been loving this story ever since it bubbled up back when. He'll be fine... :roll:

Understatement of the day: the guy has clearly got some mental issues and appears to have some dangerous sexually deviant tendencies. Wasn't he in jail for something of that sort in Thailand? Even if he didn't do this crime, I'd be worried about what else he has done...or might do..

I actually had a friend in my office raise a different theory: he was hanging out in a prison in Thailand. He confesses to the crime, he gets extradited, his DNA doesn't match, and he walks away a free man, in his home country.

I can't imagine being in prison in Thailand is a lot of fun. It would be a hell of a risk to take to confess to a crime to get out of there, but maybe there is some method to the madness.

Still an attention whore and sick fuck regardless...

he is clearly a pedophile in terms of his fantasies- whether he has actually ever abused in real life is still to be determined but he is clearly only one step away from actually carrying out an offense (IF he hasnt done so already)

Yeah, and come to find out he's not going to be walking free, but heading to California to face charges there, so I was wrong on at least two counts. Shows you how closely I've been watching this story... ;)
