Just wondering. How early do you have to get to the airport? Are you allowed to bring your laptop on the plane??

Re: US air travel - how bad is it now?

you can bring your laptop on the plane. i think they are more concerned with liquids right now. they say to get to the airport 2 hours before domestic and 2.5 for international. i have to fly in two weeks :( hope it gets better before then.

you can only take laptops domestically, from the UK, you will have to pack it in the checked baggage. this is going to cause serious issues.

PASSENGERS TO THE US - new security measures

Passengers to the United States departing from Brussels Airport are requested to be at the airport 4 hours prior departure. They will be allowed to take through the airport security search point, in a single (ideally transparent) plastic carrier bag, only the following items. Nothing may be carried in pockets :

? pocket size wallets and pocket size purses plus contents (for example money, credit cards, identity cards etc (not handbags)); ? travel documents essential for the journey (for example passports and travel tickets); ? prescription medicines and medical items sufficient and essential for the flight (e.g. diabetic kit), except in liquid form unless verified as authentic. ? spectacles and sunglasses, without cases. ? contact lens holders, without bottles of solution. ? for those traveling with an infant: baby food, milk and sanitary items sufficient and essential for the flight (nappies, wipes, creams and nappy disposal bags). ? female sanitary items sufficient and essential for the flight, if unboxed (eg tampons, pads, towels and wipes). ? tissues (unboxed) and/or handkerchiefs ? keys
? 1 book ? 1 newspaper ? Mobile phone ? 1 laptop (inclusive adapter) in case ? PDA / black berry ? all duty free goods except: liquids, camera, not-allowed electronic articles (eg I-pods, gameboy, MP3-player,?)

Re: US air travel - how bad is it now?

you can bring pretty much any type of electronic equipment onto the plane.

the security checks isn't bad at all. I just flew from boston to la w/o any major hold ups. the only slight wait is the seating assigments when you are about to board the plane.

Re: US air travel - how bad is it now?

thats reality my friend. if those assholes in the middle east would cut the killing of innocent civilians on a daily basis, we could go back to how it was before. but alas, we need to kill them first.

Re: US air travel - how bad is it now?

It usally is not that bad just depends on where you are going. I would say 2 hrs is a safe bet to get there before your flight. As for laptops you should be able have them on there still. My last flight people on them on there. But of cours that was a while ago before the stupid liquid rule came into affect.
