Re: 75 Clothing (My Company) is almost live...

WOW:shock: I think this thread has done a good job of getting to the core of what people in his market are essentially looking for. I agree the 75 is catchy...there is something about it.

Re: 75 Clothing (My Company) is almost live...

Wow, I never thought a simply clothing company could arise such hatred from so many of you. Why don't you take that hate and channel it into something productive like perhaps trying to create your own clothing line from the ground up.

I decided to tell everyone on here about this clothing line because I knew there were plenty of people on here that do have a creative side and might just become patrons of my clothing line. Sorry I don't have enough money to come out with ten shirts at the start of the label. Time will bring about more and more shirts that will all have very interesting styles about them.

For those that are supporters and not haters. The site is now finished and live @ www.seventyfiveclothing.com

I thank those of you who show support. Spread love...not hate.

Re: 75 Clothing (My Company) is almost live...
The brand is what is important and I feel like you really understand that but you need to follow through with some refinements in its execution. The exclusivity you are pushing is interesting however I don't feel that the design warrants any intrigue to people on the street or others that see it. Sure its inverted but still isn't quite interesting enough. I also feel like your price point is off given the variables... unkerned type... hanes tshirt.
Hit the nail on the head. The brand has no character. Make something of that so it's fun or at least interesting to wear.

Secondly, I can't believe you're calling everyone in here haters for all the advice they spent their time typing up for your benefit.

I can't really name one company that turns away free feedback like that. You're the first I've seen and in all honestly can't see you going far if you keep doing that.

A week or so ago someone posted a link to their new clothing label on MS, and I blasted him for it since his first 2 posts on this forum were plugging his clothing. In think I called his clothing 'craptacular' in his thread. I fully shut the guy down. To my surprise he took the time to send me a PM and this was what he had to say to me...
hey there.

i appreciate your feedback. let me ask you a question. do you seriously not like ANY of the designs?

do you have any ideas? if my designs suck, i'm more than willing to take suggestions.

i would appreciate a serious response from you. i know alot of the designs might not be up your alley, but what kind would be?

any feedback would help.
Now on to the t-shirt. For an opening design which is meant for us to rethink fashion I don't think inverting the name of your clothing company is enough. Maybe it's just not for me, but I can't see it appealing to many. Build up the quirky designs and have people find out what the t shirt is instead of having no design and being told what the design is.

The limited edition thing in my opinion is probably a bad idea at this point in time. You should be filling your local city with as many of your cool designs as possible otherwise no one will look for your designs.

If you've got work to be proud of get the exposure you need in your city. I can't think of a single clothing label which became successful by selling through eBay. The audience is too broad and the exposure will be minimal.

On the other side of the coin, every street wear brand I can think of started out by winning over their local city first.

Re: 75 Clothing (My Company) is almost live...

There was so never any hate involved in any of the shit people wrote

The fact that people spent so much time thinking and commenting meant they cared enough to offer their opinions

If you want to succeed in anything-get used to people not blowing you every time you ask them for an opinion

really jeoffey, people here have better things to do than writing half page posts just to bash you. me, I prefer hand relief over mashing up a design thought in CorelDRAW, seriously

Re: 75 Clothing (My Company) is almost live...

I do appreciate your opinions and luckily we all have our own. But I just know a certain select few on here were more into bashing than helping. I put up this post mainly because I respect what a lot of you have to say and WANTED to get that honest feedback.

I really can't wait to get out the second edition shirt as I think it'll be a lot easier recieved than this one. It's really hard coming up with that first design that you want to introduce yourself to the market with.

And No I don't think i'll be putting the website addy on the back anymore, as I've done enough to promote that. The name itself should get people to the site.

I'm sure in time things will get better for my clothing line. It's just getting off the ground that is the hard part. Now I know how Marc Ecko felt when he was starting up...only thing is I don't owe people 2 Million dollars.

Everyone have a great day today. For it is wednesday and that means that the weekend is just around the corner.

Re: 75 Clothing (My Company) is almost live...

I give you respect for going out on ur own and trying to make some money broa. For me i like polo type T's maybe with an inner layer. What always attracts me are bright colours such as purple or pink against a layer of white or black. It is a tough market to break into but good luck with it.

Thanks. You're right it is a tough market.

Re: 75 Clothing (My Company) is almost live...

^^^ That's exactly why we were being so tough on you in the first place. Personally, I'd love to see you kick it as a cutting edge designer. In Belgium we have a saying that goes: soft healers make stinking wounds.

Btw, that 75 in sig banner looks sweet jeff. Really a font that expresses the message you want to get across and it has a trendy twist to it. I'd buy that for sure :)

Right, now fuck off and go work on your next design! The world isn't going to conquer itself ;)
