I am particularly interested in things that wouldn't usually be included in the tourist guide books.

Sea life here sucks, it's dirty. Unless you go deep sea fishing past Catilina Island.

Theres a cool reggae type bar with open mic (Wednesdays) called The Dub Club [URL="http://www.attheecho.com/"]http://www.attheecho.com/[/URL], which lets you smoke weed....

Some pretty cool Jazz Lounge with House and Hip Hop in China Town (1st Friday of every Month = Firecracker) [URL="http://www.firecracker.mu"]www.firecracker.mu[/URL]

Some great small bars in DownTown L.A. close to the Mayan. PRetty chill out bars with good music (no dancefloor) and great people.

uhh, Hollywood is overrated, the bars are very very small but can be cool at tiems, depends who you go with; the parking sucks ass

how many people from here will be going to LA for Sasha & Digweed on New years? the renaissance is a good location.

it really depends on what you want to do. if you want to see a super hot collection of women, try to hit up the roosevelt hotel too. kinda pricey but chicas everywhere.
