they have issues occasionally...

last time i tried to buy music there, i would add a few songs to my basket, then would randomly signed out of my account and have to start all over. ended up having to buy songs in groups of 2 and 3 cause i didnt want to risk adding more to my cart.

they need some serious techies to sort their shit out for them.

no issues here.... ^^ day4night... you need to adjust your internet settings... i had the same problem a while back but not since i fixed the "check for newer pages each time something or other"... either do "automatic" or "never". (it's in "Tools", "Internet Options", "General", "Temp Internet Files and/or Browsing Options", "Settings").. if you have "every visit to the page" selected it clears everything each time you refresh/reload.

no, i've got that set properly...it was definitely the site. i shop there weekly, its only happened once.

Having the same problems here. Getting logged out randomly is frustrating as well. Beatport you guys really need to sort out your shit, I want to buy my music legally, but Soulseek is still an option if you can't deliver the goods... :what

Those places are great if you want to buy prog/electro and don't mind paying out the ass for it in some cases. However, last time I checked those sites don't offer the style of music I need much less a good selection of the tracks I'm looking for.

After spending in excess of $1000 (that's a fortune for a college student) at Beatport over the past year, I just expect it to work. I also expect their customer service to serve their customers when there is a problem. As it stands now, their customer service is a joke, their site always has problems, and the quality of their mp3's are all too frequently shit. The way things work now, like it or not, is that the music industry can't offer substandard products or services, because consumers can get it for free at the click of a mouse.

I'm not going to start pirating my shit, that's a bit extreme and morally dubious I'll admit, but damn... sort it out already.

I´d say they´re just upgrading the site, man...I have Traktor 3 which has an in-built Beatport browser and it just says "Beatport inline store is currently undergoing construction"

weswood, it isnt that bad. i have spent more than you there and i rarely, and i mean rarely have problems. their interface is simple, quick and nice to navigate, the only problem there is that the music player is out of view if you are at the bottom of the list. so what. no big deal. they have great selection, brilliant search function, and the account trackning is better than amazon.

however, thier customer service is lacking a bit, you just get an automated reply.

You're right, it's not that bad and overall I've actually been pretty happy with their site considering the hassle and cost of buying vinyl in the past. I guess I've become spoiled. But lax customer service has always been one of my pet peeves. It's nowhere near as bad as some other places like Satellite Records for example, those jackasses would have been better off if they just hadn't answered their emails at all. :lol:

....touche' and you're right about their customer service and some of the music quality by the way.... gone south the past year imo.

BP won't let me log in, no matter how many times I try or how many different browsers I use... their flash is majorly wonky IMO.

I agree that everyone and his dog goes there nowadays, but is there really a better alternative? The sheer number of releases they have absolutely smokes the competition. As long as you?re willing to take the time to browse the site thouroughly and not just stick to the charts and the opening page ads, you can still get something which not many people will have.

Besides Beatport, I?ve only bought from DJdownload and Magnetic Grooves...and that was because they had a couple of tracks I couldn?t find on Beatport. I didn?t really enjoy the payment system and navigation as much though, and I also don?t like to have to open a separate window or, even worse, WMP, to listen to a track.
