Re:: Seaman's doing a essential mix!!!!

his GUs are good but I don't think they come close to any of his Renaissance mix albums

Based on what?

Seaman is anything but cheese, lol.. Bucko

#239708Post 11 of 30

I think the cheese comes from the odd vocal record he seems to play. as long as he stays deep and fucked up, it will be allll good. :D

i am looking forward to this, dave seaman is great and i would love to hear what he is doing now. haven't heard anything from him in a while.:D

And what is wrong with a bit of vocals? I like a vocal now and again. No one moans when Diggers throws in the odd vocal track.

Looking forward to this EM I?m thinking it?s gonna be a good one.

To make my point clearer, I meant to say that the vocal records he usually throws in, tend to be quite cheesy. Not that vocals are bad, just the one's Seamo goes for!

Imo of course. :D

#239803Post 18 of 30

i really like dave seaman in general.

although the renaissance and GU discs of his have hits and misses, i tend to like the renaissance ones (particularly singapore and awakening) more that the GU ones... although IMO, capetown is a classic.

he seems to have an every other release isnt as good cycle. desire, not so good. melbourne? pretty good. therapy sessions? hmm.. well , at least the phil k disc didnt suck.

i didn't know he was still around :o

Re:: Seaman's doing a essential mix!!!!

I've always liked Dave Seaman and BiR productions... but... I've always seen him as a bit of a slightly-more-commercial Sasha clone.

The only criticism is the lack of originality - I love hearing him DJ, especially as he'll drop vocals or piano tracks that Sasha might have steered clear of. I just get the feeling I know what he's gonna play, ie. whatever Sasha was playing a few months ago.

That said, apart from his Melbourne GU, I haven't heard him for a few years... Looking forward to it all the same. 8)

Ya i saw him at the guv a couple of months ago and he rocked the house. Def. looking forward to this one.. :Bingo:

Re:: Seaman's doing a essential mix!!!!

I'm glad I saw him the last time he played here, he doesn't come to L.A. often maybe once a year. He fooking ROCKED and destroyed Spundae, I'd never seen the guy so happy. He always mixes well, but his pragramming was second to none that night.

I agree, he used to be great back in the day but know he is so predictable... I haven't enjoyed his sets nearly as much as I used to a three years ago or so...

#241309Post 27 of 30

i have to do a lot of soul searching after listening to therapy sessions, what a bunch of crap that was. not looking forward to his new gu at all!

#241410Post 28 of 30
