is this like Zabiela's long lost cousin or something?? damn... they must have a training camp or something to learn the mixers inside and out like that...

Re: Rik Parkinson - DJM-800 Demo / Tutorial Session.

the technology is very cool. i can see the use of it getting annoying (kinda like when the djm500 first came out, and every set you heard was flanged to death.) i guess it just depends on what you spin. i can see some breaks djs going nuts with all the fx and stuff. for me, it's a waste. give me a really clean high end mixer, aka rane/allen heath, and i'm good. i will be very curious to see technology peeps test the audio quality from this thing...since in the past, pioneer's sound quality has been just mediocre.

Re: Rik Parkinson - DJM-800 Demo / Tutorial Session.

it will be interesting to see for sure... whilst technically the mixer has many features that you can incoporate in your sets, a set laden with EFX will sound terrible and "tricksy" IMO. Less is more. Balance is good.

The sound quality is perfect, sounds very clean and nothing like Pioneers previous offerings (excluding the 1000). Try and check one out if you get a chance mate. :)

Re: Rik Parkinson - DJM-800 Demo / Tutorial Session.

Rik Parkinson looks like he taught James Zabiela everything he knows. That kid knows his shit. Oh, and I agree less is more with effects. Knowing how to use them properly is the key. They allow you to do things that no other set-ups can. I will have an DJM 800 and I will take a EFX 1000 with that, thank you. By the way I use my EFX 500 all the time. LOVE IT!!!!!!
