Yeah, yeah, I had to start it...

1 Chris Fortier (11-25-2000) part 1
A very groundbreaking sound for me. Only two years earlier, I was listening to trance. Something had to save my soul and this mix certainly did that. The track at 25:40 I look foward to everytime I listen to this mix. There is a part 2 of this mix, but it doesn't carry the same vibe in my opinion.

2 Ali Ajami (7-28-2001) This is the first mix I'd heard by Ali, and I still consider it my favorite of his. At the 23:00 mark, I always realize why. I love the end with Tone Depth - Twilight (Steve Porter Breakdown Mix), which is just a really cool track.

3 Kazell (11-3-2001) What he does with Fusion - Resistance (Steve Porter remix) towards the end of the mix is stunning. This turned me on to Kazell and I've been a fan ever since.

4 Steve Porter (3-1-2003) A little different from what I was used to hearing from Steve at that time. However it helped me except a new sound which in turn opened my mind to the music. Porterhouse before it was Porterhouse.

5 Chloe Harris (3-28-04) What can I say, this was by far the best Kiss mix of 2004 and even 2005 for me. Hearing a mix had never made me have a crush on the DJ until this point, of course most of the djs I listen to are male. :what

That was hard to do. I would put James Holden (4-9-06) if I didn't aleady have the full Loft set before the show aired.

best set ever for me... pig & dan submission sessions... i cant remember the exact date, for the other 3, i will have to go through my kiss collection to remember some other, but mainly thats the one i remember

i think there should be some of this legendary kiss mixes on the download section, i dont have any of this anymore, my hd failed 1 year ago with all my classic stuff :(, in fact my first kiss is from 2003, sorry to be such a noob, but i was too "young" and inmature to know what good music is :p.... just wondering if thats possible.

martin garcia, guy gerber 2003, habersham, yunus 2003 05, slacker agreed on some classic DL section. best diggers mix was a march mix 2003, totally changed my ears towards the deep dark twisted beats.

let's see ..... in no particular order

Yunus (his first one) - I like the Yunus sound from back when he first released a track on Fire999 records (or whatever it was called). This whole mix just blew me away.

Pig & Dan - They played a buch of their own tracks, and they just flowed, and were beautiful. I have since bought most of the tracks from this set, so I don't listen to it as much anymore, but it's one of my favorites for sure.

Sasha (can't remember which one, they were all pretty good)

Steve Porter (first one) - changed how I viewed Steve Porter. He totally picked it up here, from his previous style of playing proggy stuff, he just picked up the pace a ton, and really started to define his own style (which I love).

Sean Cusick (first one) - that first track - the Nora Jones Angels remix, I still haven't tracked it down myself, but it's so damn good. And the way it just keeps on bouncing around into the next 4 tracks... it's just a perfect first half of the set. The rest is amazing too, but at the time I had been hearing that medway remix from the remix comp too much (since my friend and I had remixed it), but yea, just an awesome mix.

as for my favorite digweed kiss mixes... the one where he played Ben Onono - Badagry Beach is in my top 5. Also, the mix where he played Rapture (way before I ever heard anyone else play it) was just a classic mix. He played Rapture, then Trancetters - Synergy, then some Luke Fair song which I don't think was ever released still (White Island Heat) and also some track by Rob Rives which was sweet (Shade - I like to Ride).

actuall now that I think about it, almost every mix from May - Sept of 2001 was amazing by digweed. Check out the tracklistings. That was when he had the Club Yellow Tokyo sets. ahhh the days before Mercury Server. The early days of the internet and making sure I stayed late at work on Fridays so I could catch the show streaming, then having no way to get the recordings of them, so trying to find the tracklistings so I could try to find any records even by the same artists online to order from satellite records, then 4 weeks later actually getting them shipped to me....

yea I miss those days.. I'm old now. :(

therefore he probably was part of Slacker's other mixes for kiss100, one from jan 15 2006 and jan 5 2002. :)

Jonathan Lisle (May 28, 2006 and February 27, 2005), Habersham (July 31, 2005), Yunus Güvenen (June 29, 2002) and Steve Porter (June 23, 2001) are the ones that realy did it for me.

sasha, his guestmix from around dec'04, actually the first hour of his beirut set - stayed with me for two or three months, absolute legend, has that trademark sasha's sound, layering, getting better and better with every track, etc - too bad next hours didnt really live up to this hype.

desyn, latest mix, second half of 2005 - that will be a legend too, first 30 mins is just fucking awesome, house music served with such taste, and then it goes straight into that middletons remix of vox. again, truly excellent mix.

I remember listening to a Yunus set sometime last year that was f'n sick. I'll have to dig through the archives to see what it was.

I dig the Steiger set so far....thanks for the heads up. I like checking out the unknown gems of Kiss & EM.

I may be on my own with a lot of these, however these were my personal favourites in no particular order:

January 15th, 2006 - John Digweed + Slacker (begining of this with the Adaptation quotes and Truth and Sunshine, kind of dropped off at the end though) December 18th, 2005 - John Digweed + Slam October 23rd, 2005 - John Digweed + M.A.N.D.Y. (Love the Baxendale track, and Bear bounces back) October 9th, 2005 - John Digweed + Damian Lazarus (First time I saw him live, was at sound bar in Chicago, never heard of him before that. Rocked the house)

I am sure everyone has their own favourites that are different than these however, these ones hit me the right way.

This weeks with Terry Grant is going to get alot of listens from me! There were lots that I used to listen to from the old John Digweed site that weren't transfered over to the new site which I can't remember now who did the mix with the song "We Want Your Soul".

I have just got some 2003 kiss fm mixes and it seems to me that this year was a fucken great year on the show. Any one else feel the same??
