Craigslist -- Deadbeat Haven?

OK, I've tried to use craigslist three times now -- twice to sell something, and once to buy something. 2 out of these 3 times, the person I've been dealing with has just completely flaked on me and not bothered to show up to actually complete the transaction.

I'm not out any money as a result of it, but I have sat around with my thumb up my ass for a little while for these folks that didn't show up and haven't even had the courtesy to call. What the hell? I guess not having the feedback thing like they do on eBay emboldens folks to just blow shit off if they don't feel like following through...

Anyone else have any similar experiences?

If you wiggle your thumb it's a more amusing waste of time.

Re: Craigslist -- Deadbeat Haven?

I sold my technics to some mad crackheaded dude who rolled in with his skinnily cracked out gf-they happened to be African Americans. The guy was obviously a ?facilitator? of some sort as they cash was in endless supply. Suffice it to say it worked well enough for me to get a pair of Stanton C 304s. Oh yean and she rolled a blunt in my bedroom (where the decks were) was offered to ?party? with her, which I declined and then she shook for a little while while nursing a Heineken that she came in with. So there ya go.

Oh yeah and my roommate is from craiglist too. Craigslist just demands a lot of street smarts and common sense. I?d rather have it as a resource than not at all.

AWESOME!!!!

Did she have a raspy deep voice and say "White boy wanna party wit me? I'll freak your shit the fuck out and you gonna fuckin love it?"

Was it a 40?

I have found several past shared apartments on craigslist that were great. And one BJ that was pretty good too actually.

Re: Craigslist -- Deadbeat Haven?

Craig's List beats the hell out of the classifieds in the local paper - Not quite as cool as eBay but given that it is 100% free you can't expect the same.

Re: Craigslist -- Deadbeat Haven?

Unless your classified ads are in The Los Angeles Times or The Orange County Regsiter. Quit reading the paper from Great Falls. :p
